Dragon Con 2010 and LotS

Ugh... I've been trying to create a post on my LJ account, but apparently their photobucket application is not working.... so I'll post here and then maybe if I forgive LJ for driving me insane the last 2 hours I'll post there as well.

Anyway... Flew to SC to visit family -- strategically timed to coincide with DragonCon in Atlanta!! Then made the slightly over 2 hour drive on Sunday to spend the day there.

I really wish I'd taken more pictures as it was a picture perfect day!

After I arrived I waited 30 minutes in the corral to get one of these:



Then walked the few blocks to the Hyatt to take my shift at the Fan Table where I soon met:




I also met some very nice fans. A couple had heard about the iTunes giveaway at the Seeker podcast and were very excited to learn they were for episodes 1 & 2 as they'd only seen Season 2. Successfully explained the beauty of both the show and the books to fan who'd heard the books were much better. A mom and her 2 kids stopped by later and were surprised to learn the show had been canceled. The young boy said "Dad's going to be very unhappy." I told them to be sure and visit SaveOurSeeker.com and they said they would!

A quick call to Azeri^TM and I would soon be meeting @team_BAMC (seekeretly the only reason I went to D*C) ;D See her awesome picspam here. Also Pickgems' update here.



It was really nice getting to meet all of the girls -- but I missed Valhallalilly

The party started with a showing of Revenant (that episode has some hilarious closed captioning!!) and then the Pass It On videos.


It was a fun day and I wish I'd had more time. Seeker fans were so nice and truly love the show. I'm glad to be a part of such an awesome fandom!!

I worked far too long on it. I had a wonderful time and talked to tons of seeker people during my 5 hours at the table on Saturday. We are heading back next year, hopefully there will be more Seeker things to join in on!

*Friday Sept 3rd/2010*
Legend of the Seeker/Sword of Truth costume meet up/photo op, 11:30 p.m. The group will be gathering in the Marriott on the 10th Floor (“Skyline level”). Come out in your amazing costumes so we can get one great big group photo!


*Saturday Sept 4th*
Several people plan to dress up in Legend of the Seeker and Sword of Truth costumes to walk in the annual Dragon*Con parade which normally begins at 10am. One person is keeping a list of all the parade participants and they are monitoring this discussion thread if you want to get involved.



The American Scifi Media track is planning to do a Legend of the Seeker fan panel at 11:30am. The panel is titled “Legend: Chronicles of a Seeker”. This will likely take place in the American Scifi Media track room which is likely in the Marriott.

*Sunday Sept 5th*
There will be a Legend of the Seeker fan party/meet-up in the Consuite on Sunday afternoon from 2pm-4pm. The location is likely to be on the 2nd floor in the Hyatt. You can check out some of the discussions about the event in this thread over at the LegendOfTheSeeker.org forums.



*Monday Sept 6th*
We will be doing a LIVE recording of our podcast as part of the Podcasting programming track. Come by to hang out with your fellow Seeker fans and to hear us talk about Legend of the Seeker and the Sword of Truth book series. This is scheduled to take place at 11:30am likely in the Hilton.
