This was disappointing... I was very excited about their new shows (specially Craig's) let's just wait and hope for the best.

Here is the CW twitter page, so all of us can let them know how much we are looking forward to this new pilot. I don't know any place else to leave a message. twitter.com/#!/cw_network www.cwtv.com/feedback/comments I think this one might be even better, you get to leave a comment.

I hope Craig and Bridget get new gigs soon! Maybe these pilots made some people aware of them who weren't before. I'd hate to wait another two years for Craig to get another gig, and I'd like it even better if we got to see him in it!

This is not the news that we wanted to hear about "Joey Dakota" and "Frontier". However, it is wonderful that each of them was considered for a big project by one of the major networks, and not just as supporting characters, but for main character roles. Remember all of the media hype when Craig was cast in the starring role of J.D.? That was a good wave of media attention for him, and I'm sure that it was not lost on the other networks either. Both Craig and Bridget are growing in name recognition, and being considered for big projects, and this is good! Of course, we know what roles they would be best in. Picture Bridget in a white dress, and Craig holding a sword in his hands...

On a more positive note... We will get to see Bridget in some episodes of "Perception", a new series that will begin this summer on July 9 on TNT. This is a Ken Biller, Mike Sussman production, and Bridget will guest star as a character named Victoria Ryland in two episodes: #9: "Shadow", and #10: "Light". Not the same as if "Frontier" would have been picked up, but at least we will see her in something new.

deacon and all of you, I can't tell ya how disappointed I am. I was so up for this. I only hope from what deacon said that the wave of media attention for them both was a good thing and that they are being noticed and picked for big projects. But this part in Joey Dakota was just perfect for Craig and I was just so sure it'd get picked up. Are these people brick-ass-stupid or what? *&%^%$#^%#$ for christ-sake, already and here's another &^%$#@*&. I just hate this.I'm having a snit. If I could do this bigger I would, so there. Any body in for a snit-party?

Are these people stupid or what?! I'm sorry, Sybil. We were all looking forward to this one, and I know how much it meant to you. You're right, Craig would be perfect in this role. Unfortunately, the networks are playing it very safe, and being very boring this time around. No one will take a chance and add something "original" to their line-ups. One small consolation for you - ABC renewed "Revenge". I know that you enjoy that one. At least "Young Zedd" had his show renewed. I also have one consolation. Remember the "big 3" that I was looking forward to: 1. "Chicago Fire" with Jesse Spencer. 2. "Joey Dakota" with Craig. 3. "Frontier" with Bridget. At least "Chicago Fire" was picked up, so I got one of my shows. Most reporters will not write about shows that were not picked up until after the networks Upfronts this coming week. Perhaps enough of them will write about their disappointment in "Joey Dakota" not being picked up, and a cable network will be bold enough to take it on. Usually we do not get to see a pilot that has not been picked up, but once in awhile a network will put one online for a brief time, so that people can stream it. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but maybe if The CW gets enough requests it may consider having the "Joey Dakota" pilot online for awhile? Heck, I would even pay to watch it. Just remember Sybil, try to remain calm when you write to them, don't write in anger. Somehow I don't think that Mark Pedowitz will be very sympathetic if you tell him that he is "brick-a**-stupid"! ;D

Ya think deacon? No, when I write letters, no matter how disappointed I am, I always be nice. No matter how many heads I'd like to break, really.
I do love Revenge, it's been really good. I'm glad it got another season.
I wonder if Craig knows already?

Hollywood needs some new blood. I'm sick and tired of all the generic crap shows.. How many cop shows do we need!? And the remakes.. my gawd the remakes...
Ah well Lets just hope that this means they're headed for bigger and better things?
I wouldn't complain about a Firefly revival.. Maybe Craig could be the new pilot.. Since Wash kinda bit it in Serenity.. XP
They'd need someone to replace Book and Mr universe too..
*snerk* just sayin'

Another thing to keep in mind is that not all of these new shows are going to succede. Every Fall there are a few new ones that are cancelled, and then their networks have a few shows in mind as possible replacements. That's why I wouldn't give up on writing to The CW about "Joey Dakota". Let them know that there is still fan interest, even if they didn't pick it up right away. If enough of us ask to see the pilot, maybe they can put it on Hulu for a limited amount of time? That way it would actually make some money, and they could count the number of views. Just a thought...

I wouldn't mind just seeing the pilot but I'd love even more having a series.
I don't know what TV is doing now. Lot's of series that was not cancelled haven't come back. Like Falling Skies, it hasn't started yet but it'll be back in June. Why didn't it start with the other shows? Haven was on, didn't come back for over a year and then it came back and now it hasn't been back but I hear it'll be back soon. Remember the "old days", when a series would run and then you'd have a summer break, with reruns, an then they'd be back with all the series started. It just seems it's all mixed up and you never know when a series is coming back, till it shows up. I hate when this happens.

Yes, broadcast TV has changed a lot lately. It used to be like you said, a regular season, and then during the summer we had repeats, and new episodes returned in the Fall. Now we have a Fall, Spring, and Summer season. TNT is fond of summer series, that is why "Falling Skies" will back in June. They will also present the new "Dallas" series in June, and "Perception" will begin in July. Bridget will be a guest star in 2 episodes of that series, but we probably won't see those until eary September. Remember how "Seeker" used to not begin until November.
When a network passes on a pilot, they give up the rights shortly thereafter and someone else has the option to pick it up. That is why I think "Joey Dakota" may still have a small chance of being picked up by someone else. However, they would have to move quickly, as that cast cannot just sit around and wait. They will move on to other projects.

I sure wish someone would pick it up. I think it'd do great on SyFy, Lost Girl is doing really good, so JD would be a great hit there.

That's exactly what I've been thinking! The producers i.e. Mark Harmon's ppl must be aware of the interest that we've shown in Joey Dakota.
I was hoping that he might try to pitch it to another network, some TV company with some good taste and the balls to put something different out along with all the mediocure stuff that seems to get picked up!
