I wonder if anyone from the ABC/Disney/Tribune/other ever peruse the fan sites. If they do, I hope they take notice. I've wondered about the same thing. It would be kind of cool if they did because then they would see how much fans want another season.

Having worked for Disney for about 10 years, I am fairly confident that they have a team of people scouring the internet for things like this. Not only for data collection purposes but also for copyright infringements. LotS being a syndicated show kind of leaves them out in the cold when it comes to being a part of the Disney/ABC promotion machine, but I'm sure Disney wants to know how it is received. Remember they have an extensive worldwide distribution interest and also sales of the DVD's and soundtracks. So it's not just the US viewing numbers that Disney is considering. This is why I am fairly hopeful we will get a season 3.

ET, Your diplomacy is showing. You're being way to kind too them (in my opinion). Dropped the ball? They never even held the ball in their hands. They didn't give this show the slightest bit of promotion even from the beginning. I saw one commercial for it last year - while I was watching it...obviously I'm a fan if I already have it on. I wonder if anyone from the ABC/Disney/Tribune/other ever peruse the fan sites. If they do, I hope they take notice. My diplomacy does that *grabs fig leaf* No I agree with you...I didn't see very much advertising at all. I get Seeker on WGN and would catch the occasional commercial, but I am also an ABC loyalist so don't watch other channels much except for LOTS. As much as I loved the NY Times Square promotion too, it was as Flynn would say.... interesting and a flash in the pan. I don't have cable, but from what I hear SyFy has promoted the show the most.

My diplomacy does that *grabs fig leaf* hahaha! Oh, Times Square. So sad about that. I still get teary eyed when I look at the pictures. Aww...but silentwilight was such a sweetie to me. But I digress. If I remember correctly, the only way we knew about that event was Bridget sending a tweet about it. Then when she went to KTLA for an interview a couple days before, she mentioned at the end that she'd be at a big event in TS and they asked her NOTHING about it! (that's the interviewer's fault, but come ON). Nothing like, "oh, really? When, what day? Time? Fans if you're in the area GO!" I think Erika finally hounded her ABC contacts enough that like the day before they put out a 2 line press release. It was pathetic. And ABC has a stake in it too so they should advertise for it as well. At least they did have them on Regis & Kelly. I expected a little something from them (coverage wise) on the Times Square event, I mean their studio is practically across the street. It just seems like one disappointment after another on the promotion end of this show.

The only promotion I saw for LotS was Last year with SYFY was giving a marathon of S1 promoting S2 So far this year i have seen only once a promotion on the Cw but nothing more So my bet is If SyFy were to start airing LotS we would get so much more Fans with Syfy promoting it like it did in the marathon for S1

Ruthy, you make an excellent point with regard to SyFy's promotional efforts. I believe they are our best hope for a S3 and beyond and hope that sufficient sponsorship can be retained and/or recruited to enable production to continue at the high-quality Season 2 level.
Most of the people on this site are too young to remember, but I was there when NBC pulled the plug on original "Star Trek" partway through a pared-down and budget-starved Season 3. Over the years since that time, people from NBC execs to actors to advertising and marketing professionals have agreed that this was a terrible decision on NBC's part at the time, one which many came to regret as the franchise took off among a dedicated fan base.
I see the same fan-response phenomenon with LotS that I saw with original ST. If the production studio would begin marketing show-related products, they would see that the resonse more than justifies continuing production, especially with worldwide distribution. They have barely begun to make the show known in European, Asian and South American markets, yet it is generating strong fan response.
I continue to introduce new viewers to the show on an almost-weekly basis and over 90% of them stay with the show as must-see viewers. It is difficult to imagine the powers-that-be making the same blunder NBC made forty-plus years ago; I hope they don't repeat the mistake.

NBC has a history of doing that. The horrible partial season 5 of Remington Steele. I think if the fans had known what we were going to get, we wouldn't have petitioned so hard for a season 5 and let it end with season 4.

That SciFi poll is showing Chuck way ahead, for whatever reason... Unfair.

Cleric! Are you a Trekker or Trekkie? I was there also when NBC threatened to take Star Trek off the air. Star Trek's five year mission was cut short but had the last laugh with the success of the franchise. I really hope that all the fan outpouring will save LOTS. I want that more than I ever wanted Star Trek. Richard and Kahlan MUST have more time.

I am already trying to prepair myself for the news if we don't get another season. It makes me sad to think that their might only be four more episodes left of this show. The only thing might soften the blow a little bit is that their is going to be a new book to continue their adventures.

Especially with the announcement of another Goodkind book and SyFy running it overseas, I am cautiously optimistic that we will get a season 3.

Maybe, MikeS is waiting to be able to put up a Season 3 background!! *Thinks positive vibes* !!! (I'm trying not to think of the other possible reason) Just wanted to let you all know that yesterday & today I've been in contact with 'a source close to the show', (who wishes to remain anonymous), and they wanted to pass along that: "There's no Official news yet and that we are all waiting to hear."
They also wanted to: "Thank everyone SO much for all of your support of the show... I can't tell you how much your support and love of the show means to everyone who works on it."
And to: "Let people know that there's still hope, and that their online support does help!!"
So Please Please Stay the Course and Continue Our Efforts to Help get a Season 3 Seekers

Thanks Extremis! Online support -- I'm guessing all of our comments and tweets -- but also the way we view Seeker online: Hulu, Netlix, iTunes. So how about a Hulu marathon Conseekadores? Even if you don't have time to watch right now, load it up and go eat dinner, do homework, whatever. Keep the view count up! Of course watching is even better, but you already know that. ;D
