It's true that this generally seems to be a feminine-based fanbase, and I agree w/ your comment on shipping - hence the "fangirl" terminology. I, too, have no doubt that there are more girls than guys. I'm simply feeding the curiosity beast inside of me by trying to figure out just how big the difference is. Thus far, it's a 6:1 ratio.

I'm interested in finding out what the ratio is between male and female fans of LotS/SoT. ;D

Greetings, Isabella! You've been introduced to the home of the Conseekadores! It sounds like you got into the show the same way I did. I think I discovered it on YouTube, too. iTunes had an ad for it and prodded me about it, which might've helped, too. I think I watched every then available episode in one day. Richard and Kahlan are quite possibly the most fascinating OTP I've ever "met" or heard of, and I'm very glad I found them. I've done the "stay up til sunrise reading" thing, too. A couple weeks ago, I couldn't put WFR down, so I lost track of the time and ended up reading til 8am. I'm glad you're one of the fans that enjoys both the books and the show. I agree with you in that I've seen a lot of SoT fans who loathe the show with a fiery passion b/c of how different it is. They don't realize how much they're missing out. I can already tell we have a lot in common. The media vibe is something I'm into, too. I love being involved w/ that type of stuff. Almost everything involving a camera or theatre is really interesting for me. I'm into a handful of the shows you like, too. (FINALLY! A fellow Moonlight fan!) I hope you enjoy this forum! I've only been here for a couple weeks, and I'm hooked.

I'd like to give a warm welcome to Heidi, kahlanfan123 and Alexander! Mel: Yay! Another Robin Hood fan! I'm unsure about series 3 as well, but I will give it a shot (assuming it ever comes back!) I didn't even know RH existed til last year. I ended up watching almost all of both seasons in less than a week. I'm sure my eyes were squares by then. Season 3 is gonna be hard for me to watch... I won't like it nearly as much w/o Lucy, and I definitely won't like it as much w/o Jonas. It's all Melmione's fault... she told me about this site and I couldn't resist to join! I also try to make some nice vids for Kahlan/Richard. I noticed that Melmione posted a few of my vids here in the forum, too. I feel so honored! I'm a TV junky! I love a lot of tv shows: Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Robin Hood, Dr. Who, Merlin, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, ER, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Star Trek TNG, Wildfire, Firefly...... and a lot more! ohh! One thing I have to say: I can't wait for episode 8!!! *lol* You say that like it's a bad thing... Mwahaha. Seriously, though. This forum rocks! I had to post your vids. They're some of the best from my LotS playlist! David Boreanaz rocks! I never got around to watching much of Buffy or Angel, but I do watch Bones. Robin Hood is love! (Except for the whole Marian thing...) Friends is a classic I grew up on. I clapped every time for the theme song. The only other stuff I've got is Lost (yay for Jate!), Prison Break and sorta kinda Heroes. Trust me. We're all anxious for "Denna"! Melmione-my bud I have met out on forum ;D Is your quote under your avatar from the books? *sigh* ;D Actually, that quote is not from the books. The one in my sig is, though. The words under my icon are from the song "You Are The One I Love" by Jon McLaughlin from his newest CD. I'm a highly musically-inclined person; I play a few instruments, including the piano. I'm also a bit of a Broadway geek.

Greetings, eowyn! I love being able to come to a place where I can post and read opinions and information about LotS. None of my friends or family are interested in it, so this is the place to go for me! *waves back to lolilie* I discovered the show before the books also. Make sure you set aside some time for Wizard's First Rule - the first book of the series, if you didn't already know - b/c not only does it take a while, but it consumes your train of thought. It might be a stretch to say it's life-changing, but...it definitely shakes you up. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm at least halfway through and addicted. I can tell I'm going to get along well w/ you. ;D I like some of the shows you do - including Robin Hood:BBC. I have been ranting about that finale ever since I heard about what would happen. I'm unsure of how season three will turn out... Oh, and I'm also a vidder! Check out my homepage to view my YouTube channel.

Hi Mel! Welcome aboard...ahhh you have GOT to give into sci-fi. Seriously...there's no other genre in TV where women are as kick ass as they are in sci-fi and the men? They're so much hotter than on regular TV...I mean come ON Craig Horner, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Tom Welling, Justin Hartley, Jason Momoa, just to name a few... Have fun looks like that you're already making yourself home If you make videos or fanfiction we have our own video channel and fanfic archives where you can post your works into as well. The best of the Fanvids get posted in our channel often get featured on our main website Multipleverses.com.Well, for the past year or two I have been getting into it. I have no idea where my lust for it came from, but it's definitely knocked me off my feet. I think Smallville was the first for me... I was addicted for the first four seasons or so. I've only seen a couple eps of Supernatural, but my sis LOVES it and it seems worth watching. I've seen plenty of Doctor Who as well... LotS is definitely my fave so far, though. ;D As for the videos and fanfiction, I'll definitely look into that. I've already posted a vignette here in the Fanfic thread, but I didn't consider the archive... I'll have to see about that. I should also see about posting my YT vid on the forum's channel... I've been on another site, where when I decided I might like to see the movie Twilight, went into the thread and right away, there was a post that told three major plots in the last book, there by spoiling more than I ever wanted to know. It was awful, and took the surprise out of it. I completely understand what you mean, briee. Something like that happened to me, both with Twilight and Harry Potter. There are people out there determined to suck the fun out of stuff. I'm very glad to say that I agree w/ you in that this forum is different - in a good way. Mel - Nice to have you here. I didn't know anything about LOTS until I saw the preview show with Lucy Lawless and I knew I had found something that would help fill the hole that is getting deeper without my Stargate fix! Everyone here is great and I love the positive attitude of the forum. Hallelujah for independant, non-damsel-in-distress women! I have a good friend of mine who absolutely adores Adam Baldwin. She made me watch My Bodyguard w/ her, and she's seen it at least fifty times. She's also a very big fan of Chuck. (I don't blame her. It looks like a good show.) The way I discovered it was iTunes. They recommended the show to me and I originally thought it wasn't my cup of tea. I obviously changed my mind. I've been enjoying the forum so far. Everyone is kind and respects the opinions of others. Love it. Hello, all! Wondering if there are any "mature" Seeker fans out there. I'm (gulp!) 57 yrs. old and just discovered the Seeker several weeks ago and have been catching up on Hulu. I actually have the opposite problem... I'm pretty sure I'm one of the youngest here. I appreciate the warm welcome from all of you!

Hey, fellow LotS fans! I'm Mel, and obviously a Newbie to the Confessor and Seeker Society. ;D I'm psyched about the show and the book series, and think it's great that there's a forum about it. Y'know, to ask questions or see other people's opinions or vent about stuff that happens in the show/novels. I noticed you guys were mentioning TV shows, like Alias. I used to LOVE that show. I own every season on DVD. I'm also a geek...but w/e. My YouTube Channel (which can be found as my homepage) lists all the stuff I'm into. Which is a lot. I never used to want anything to do w/ Sci-Fi, but I'm definitely warming up to it. The nice thing I like about the TV show is that a) You don't have to be an ardent fan of the books to be a fan of the show, and b) You can like both of them w/o feeling any type of remorse. While the show is, in many ways, different than the book(s), they're obviously related and close enough that, as fides said, there's no sense of betrayal. I look forward to browsing the forum! ;D
