In the 2nd picture (the one Richard is running towards camera with Jennsen in the back over his shoulder) it looks like his shirt is faded bloody - corresponding to the spot in the shirtless one in the water... also, it kinda looks like it's also there in the Richard only photo!

It's definitely bloody... Is he running towards Kahlan ? And what would she say when he see him looking like that, may be "Take it off, take it off! Off, I said, Richard!!!" So yeah I would go with Truth on that

Speaking of his shirt, I notice the last couple of episodes it looks like it's looking pretty gray or grayish blue. I watched Denna for the first time in awhile last night and his shirt was looking much bluer. Does wardrobe have only one shirt for our Seeker?
