From Laura of the SOS.com Team:
SaveOurSeeker.com Accounting Update - November 2010
We've updated the spreadsheet on Googledocs with the SOS campaign expenditures and donations received. spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AqfHGJsENylOdFBqcF9lWWdpbXU2MEY0dENjSGs3ZEE&hl=en#gid=0
Thank you to all the fans that continue to donate money for the DVD-Library drive. This and other projects would not be possible without your support. To date, we donated 54 season 2 DVDs to public libraries in the US, and the response has been very positive.
We still plan to donate 250 DVDs total.
As a reminder, we're still offering the 'thank you' gifts with Team Awesome for donations over $50. community.livejournal.com/legendofseeker/789668.html
-Also, check out the new Team Awesome holiday items on Cafe Press, including Christmas stockings, ornaments, cards, calendars, and other nice gift ideas. www.cafepress.com/SaveTheSeeker/7272979
If you plan to do some holiday shopping online - 'Legend of the Seeker' DVDs, 'The Sword of Truth' books, or *any* other items from Amazon, please access Amazon.com through this URL, and SaveOurSeeker.com automatically gets a referral fee. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JSSPSY?ie=UTF8&ref_=sr_1_1&s=gateway&qid=1285360801&sr=8-1&linkCode=shr&camp=213733&creative=393181&tag=saveocom0e-20
-Amazon.com continues to help out the SOS campaign. Last October, when all the LOTS Season 2 DVDs got shipped by Amazon from pre-orders and regular orders, we earned $339! (Even though we won't receive the check until the end of December.) The October check will buy at least 10 season 2 DVDs that SOS will donate to libraries Amazon.com has already contributed over $600 to-date, which has helped us purchase iTunes episodes, cards, and flyers that we gave out at past genre conventions.
For other ways to contribute to the Save Our Seeker campaign, here's a long list of campaign activities that don't require spending money. sot-fan.livejournal.com/4083.html

This is awesome! I donated again just a couple of weeks ago...not as much as I would have liked, but every little bit helps.

For those who don't know, SoS is looking into another ad campaign for THR and/or Variety. Here's the latest from Laura at SoS: Heard back from both THR and Variety.
THR requires $1,000 minimum for a campaign to run. It's higher than our price range to be honest. And ads rotate on www.thr.com and sub-pages. If you re-load your browser, you can see how the ads rotate.
This is the banner size and cost per thousand views (CPM) on THR.
728 X 90 = $12 CPM 300 x 250 = $15 CPM
They charge by the number of times the ads show up when you're on their sites, rather than the number of clicks, which is pretty typical and totally fine for what we need to accomplish.
I need to talk to the Variety sales rep on Monday. From her email, it seems like we have more flexibility, and we can target specific pages. I like that a lot!
728x90 - $180 per day on the home page for example 728x90 - $62 per day on their TV page.
I'll confirm on Monday.
We should probably poll the fans to see if the majority agrees to allocate some funds to online ads. This will mean delaying the DVD project.

SOS.com Accounting Update - May 2011
Thank you to all of you for donating money, investing energy, and for entering the Save Our Seeker contest. ( bit.ly/SOScontest )
Even though donations have slowed down significantly, we recently received two $50 donations and a number of $10 contributions from inspiring fans. We're grateful to all of you. The SOS PayPayl account has about $750 so we can resume the DVD donations. We took a break during May to focus on fundraising.
We've updated the spreadsheet on Googledocs with the SOS campaign expenditures and donations received. spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AqfHGJsENylOdFBqcF9lWWdpbXU2MEY0dENjSGs3ZEE&hl=en#gid=0 The eBay auctions are the main funding sources right now. We surpassed $36,000 in money raised, including PayPal donations, Amazon.com bonus referrals, eBay earnings, and Cafepress.
Amazon.com referral bonuses have also slowed down significantly. We'd like to remind your that if you shop on Amazon.com - either often or not, your purchases can contribute to our campaign. Please access Amazon.com through this amzn.to/SOSdotcom, and saveourseeker.com automatically gets a bonus referral, even if you don't buy 'Legend of the Seeker' DVDs or 'The Sword of Truth' books. It won't cost you anything.
If you're planning to buy Terry Goodkind's upcoming novel, "The Omen Machine," you can pre-order it at amzn.to/omenmachine.
We've created a free, super-tacky sticky note you can print and keep close to to your computer ;D
Team Awesome 'thank you' gifts are still available for donations over $50. Other great items can also be purchased on Cafe Press: www.cafepress.com/SaveTheSeeker
For other ways to contribute to the Save Our Seeker campaign, here's a long list of campaign activities that don't require spending money. sot-fan.livejournal.com/4083.html
KEEP FIGHTING!
