Hi all,
My fiance, (Brian J. Smith:http://brianjsmithart.blogspot.com/) created a printable image of Richard's necklace for people to download and mail, and we plan on flooding the mailbox of:
Disney-ABC Domestic Television
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
on MONDAY MAY 24th in order to "Save our Seeker." This is a common tactic when trying to save a television series, and we're willing to try anything! So print it out, cut it out, tie a string, shoelace, dental floss, etc, pop it in an envelope and send it on out as many times as possible!
Here is a form letter to accompany the necklace if you so wish it:
To the Programming Director,
I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate the show, Legend of the Seeker. The prospect of it not returning for a third season is absolutely heart breaking for myself and many others. Every fan I know became completely involved after one episode; it has such an amazing ability to enthrall viewers, and it has the potential to reach many more if given the proper promotion.
Legend of the Seeker fills a void in television that hasn’t been approached since the Xena or Hercules series. I truly believe there is a large audience for fantasy, as proven by the incredible success of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films. It would be a mistake to pull Legend of the Seeker, since it is quite obvious the Fantasy genre is once again on the rise in popular culture. Especially when considering the recent success of BBC’s “Merlin”, as well as the attention surrounding the upcoming Hobbit film, Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood”, the newest Narnia film, and the highly anticipated HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” series.
And yet, among all of these existing examples, Legend of the Seeker remains unique. For one, its family-friendly nature allows it the rare position of appealing to the whole of Fantasy fandom, an element that is crucial in building the next generation of Fantasy fans. In addition, for the first time in a long time, we have strong, able, independent female characters to look up to, an achievement that is unrivaled in television at the moment, and one I believe is far too important to lose.
A series that so thoroughly appeals equally to male and female, young and old, that balances drama, action and romance so intelligently, that doesn’t rely on sex and violence to provide a solid plot line is truly to be admired.
I wholeheartedly believe that Legend of the Seeker can become an even bigger success; it would be a shame to lose it before it was given its proper chance.
I cannot express how much I have enjoyed the first two seasons of Legend of the Seeker. The fans are truly indebted to you for putting this wonderful show on the air. As a gift I’ve enclosed Richard’s Necklace; to represent everything the show has given to us, and hopefully will continue to give us in a third Season. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
So thanks guys! Email me if you have any questions, or need a link to the list of addresses. VirginiaGiordanoArt@gmail.com or reach me at virginiagiordano.blogspot.com/
