On the Legendoftheseeker.org forum, we discussed taking over Twitter as a way to appeal to ABC and other networks. Our first trial will be this saturday because the show airs in the US on this day.
All the information you need is here:
Twitter (First shot at taking over)
Date: Saturday, May 1st.
Time: ALL DAY! We initially said 8 am EST - but just post it as much as you can ALL day. Through the show, until the end of the episode.
Tag: #saveourseeker or #legendoftheseeker
Also use words like LOTS or full sentenced tweets.
What to include: everything you want (just some suggestions: the series timeslot, links to Save The Seeker efforts, non-US channels which air the series, Syfy/Disney/ABC/the CW/etc. info)
Spread the word and information. Keep reminding people about it until Saturday!
We can do this people, we can SAVE OUR SEEKER!

This sounds like a great idea but according to this we are getting the final word on Seeker tomorrow (or if not getting the word right away they are at least deciding). #saveourseeker : I understand why Dayna said that, it's all going to be decided tomorrow in NZ : "Unfortunately there are a lot of elements to make this unfortunate decision to cancel the show.
Tomorrow in New Zealand a final decision needs to be made due to the studios and lease.
I don't believe in the next 24 hours anything done will impact the decision."Maybe start now, or tomorrow?  |

This means that the leases expire and they need to decide whether or not to renew. HOWEVER, even if they do not renew the leases at this time does NOT mean that the show can't be saved. Leases can be renewed at a later date, etc. The fact that Disney has not already told them they are not renewing could very well mean that they are "hearing" us and are trying to look for other options.

Some more twitter trending info:
You can't tag more than one thing in a tweet or it doesn't count!
For example, if you tweet: #SaveOurSeeker #SaveOurSeeker #SaveOurSeeker #SaveOurSeeker #SaveOurSeeker
This won't count!
You can only tag it ONCE per tweet: #SaveOurSeeker
But, you can add another tag: For Example: #SaveOurSeeker #LegendOfTheSeeker #LOTS
(as long as they are not the same  )
More Info about Trending on Twitter:
Assuming Pacific Standard Time, our research indicates:
--Between 12 (midnight) to 6 am PDT:
approximately 1200 tweets and about 500 users to be trending.
--Between 6 am to 12 Noon PDT:
1700 tweets and about 733 users.
--Between 12 noon to 6 pm:
1500 tweets and about 812 users (this may be because there are more people during this time but they tweet a lot less).
--Between 6 pm to 12 midnight:
1900 tweets and about 922 users.
Some points to note: These numbers will vary by nature of topic, date and appeal of topic worldwide. This gives you a rough estimate or a ballpark, but is not in anyway comprehensive.

There's this legit tool called Twaitter that would allow users to send out scheduled tweets at a specified date and time! There's no need to sign up because you could safely connect to it with your twitter account.

The way trending topics work is for a mass amount of people to tweet the same hash-tag at the same time. If you start doing it earlier than the designated time ... it'll be pointless and it will not make trending topics, which is what we want!
3. IT ISN'T THE NUMBER OF TWEETS, BUT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE TWEETING.
The more people we have doing this, the more successful it will be!
You might want to force/ask/ even begging your friend, followers, etc to type #saveourseeker ONCE per tweet! (Don't forget to say Thanks when they did )
4. UNLOCK YOUR ACCOUNT DURING TRENDING!
It will not show up in trending topics if your account is set to private! Just unlock it for the time being and as soon as you are done tweeting for the day/night, you can reset it to private.
5. ONE HASH-TAG PER TWEET.
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS.
Because that is also spam, and spam is unwanted.
Sadly, you can't put both #saveourseeker and #legendoftheseeker in one tweet because it will NOT BE COUNTED.
Good tweet:
I love #legendoftheseeker so much!
Bad tweet:
I love #legendoftheseeker so much, please #saveourseeker ! --> Will not be considered by Twitter
6. DO NOT PLACE LONE HASHTAGS
It won't be counted either! Add some sentences inside your tweet

In an attempt to 'trend' seeker on twitter, we planning to tweet at Noon ET this Sat. There are specific rules that apply to get a topic to trend, so please read this. There are a few posts in that link that explain how trending works. It can't really be 'all day' because the trend is captured by the most people tweeting about the same topic at the same time. If you can't make it at Noon on Sat. you might visit www.twaiter.com which allows you to schedule the time of your tweet. You should use #LegendoftheSeeker in a sentence only once -- with NO other tags (#) otherwise, it won't count. To clarify - since trending captures the most tweets at a given moment (not over a period of time), Noon ET this SAT is the time. |
