My letter to handler which I sent yesterday:
Dear Mr. Hayes,
Hello! I am sure you are getting quite a bit of emails right now about the wonderful show Legend of the Seeker. I am unsure if you are the right person to email, but this email address was provided by a fan of the show. I recently heard that it has been canceled and wanted to email you to ask what the fans can do. Legend of the Seeker has a dedicated fan base around the world that will do what they can to bring this show back for a third season.
I don't know if you are aware of the way Seeker is aired but it airs at completely different time slots around the U.S. and the world. I live in Seattle, where it airs at 8 p.m. I have a friend who lives in California where it airs at 1 a.m.! Unfortunately, she is not able to watch it on TV and has to watch online after it airs. Right now the show has an average viewership of 2.5 million+, and I know with a better and more consistent time slot the ratings would greatly improve. It also did not have much marketing throughout its two years on the air. There were some interviews with the stars, but most were with small websites and places that do not receive a lot of visitors.
If we can do anything in this time to help bring Legend of the Seeker back, please let me know. I bought five more episodes on iTunes today for some fans to help improve the ratings on iTunes. Is this something we should continue to do? Do you know if any other networks are considering picking the show up?
Thank you so much for your time. And thanks to you and everyone at ABC for airing Seeker these past two seasons. As an original book fan the show is based off of, I was not disappointed. I would love to see more.
Kind regards,
Laura from Seattle

My tweets I just posted after finding out Bridget and Mike had confirmed the news:
- @bridgetregan @writtenbymikes Sad its ending but thank you for the 2 yrs. As a book fan, you brought to life the characters I love so much.
- @bridgetregan @writtenbymikes Let Craig, Tab, & Bruce know how much we appreciate their hard work. Can't wait to see what you both do next!
- Dear Legend of the Seeker fandom: thanks for being so awesome these past two years. I've made tons of new friends and ♥ you all.

I'm new to the board but I love LOTS and of course Kahlan & Richard are my fave in the show. All I have to say in this dark hour is that we all need to join forces and fight to get a 3rd season!! I'm tweeting as much as I can, I signed petitions, wrote emails and spread the word on Facebook! I've done everything I can and I've done it nicely. I think that if every fan does the same thing, we might be able to get somewhere. Maybe get a shortened 3rd season, but at least a 3rd season!! BTW, I'm also ordering the DVD today Happy to give you your first karma Kahlan19 for jumping right in! So glad you've joined us! Thanks for giving me my first karma I will definately keep writing emails to all the relevant channels and will soon post my latest email to Chandler Hayes (ABC) & SyFy. Let me know if there's anything else I can do!! I'll keeping the hope alive on twitter too

This seems like a totally awesome idea! Put a face to all of us who will be without our Seeker if something isn't fixed!

I've been a longtime lurker here, but this news is just too upsetting to not post about. After reading all the great letters everyone has been sending, I was inspired to write my own and send them off too. I sent slight variations of the following to all of the ABC emails listed in this thread:
Dear Mr. Hayes,
As a loyal viewer of the ABC show Legend of the Seeker, I’m writing you in response to the news I’ve been reading about the show’s cancellation. This is absolutely heartbreaking to me as a fan. I fell in love with this show during its first season and have eagerly looked forward to each new episode. Legend of the Seeker is such a beautifully produced show with exciting storylines and very human, appealing characters. As a huge fan of fantasy adventure, there is nowhere else on TV for me to turn to for such a satisfying fantasy fix!
Please consider giving this show another chance. In fact, it was never given much of a chance at all. I learned about Legend of the Seeker through word of mouth only. I never saw any advertisement for the show, save for previews for next week that ran at the end of the episode. This makes it extremely difficult for audiences to find and fall in love with this wonderful show. The times it aired were so odd and unpredictable, and I often had to put in a great deal of work just to find out when the new episode would be airing.
I have introduced several friends to the show, and they all found it to be very exciting and enjoyable and began watching with me. However none of them had even heard of Legend of the Seeker before because it was never promoted. This show has done tremendously well when you consider its unpredictable airtimes and complete lack of promotion. It takes time to build popularity by word of mouth, but that is what Legend of the Seeker has been doing week after week. The show has a very large following online, and while I am able to watch the episodes live and do so, I know that many audience members are forced to turn to illegal means to view Legend of the Seeker because of its bizarre airtimes. Were Legend of the Seeker to be given a regular viewing slot, these fans would be able to watch the show live and the numbers would go up!
From what I have read, it seems that the primary reason behind the show’s cancellation was that the Tribune was unable to afford Legend of the Seeker any longer due to its own financial difficulties. What a devastating reason to cancel a great show! I know that effort has been made to find a new home for Seeker, and I thank you for that, but I also beg you to redouble your efforts. This is too great a show to be left in the dust and forgotten after only two seasons. Terry Goodkind is planning to release another Richard and Kahlan novel, and this would only help the show to gain in popularity. It would be a most unfortunate time to cancel the show!
I have also heard that SyFy was very interested in picking up the show, but was unable to do so due to the cost. SyFy would be an excellent home for Legend of the Seeker, and it would only continue to gain viewers with consistent exposure to so many fantasy and science fiction fans. As a fan, there is not much I can do beyond imploring you to please consider lowering the asking price for the show. The fans of the show would happily watch a shortened season if that was the only way to get more Richard, Kahlan, Cara and Zedd on our screens. Give it a chance to build an audience on SyFy with a consistent airtime and promotion instead of expecting it to happen miraculously overnight. So many people have yet to learn of this fantastic show, and it deserves an actual opportunity to build a following.
Thank you for your time and for the two great seasons of Legend of the Seeker that we fans have been given. But please don’t let it stop there! Save Legend of the Seeker!!
Sincerely, First Name, Last Name
I then modified it a little and sent another version out to the SyFy Channel:
Dear SyFy Channel,
I am a fan of Legend of the Seeker, and am contacting you in regards to the news that you have passed on airing this fantastic show. This is such disappointing news! I fell in love with Legend of the Seeker during its first season and have eagerly looked forward to each new episode. Were you to pick up Legend of the Seeker, you would be airing a beautifully produced show with exciting storylines and very human, appealing characters. As a huge fan of fantasy adventure, Legend of the Seeker is what I turn to for my weekly fantasy fix!
Please consider giving this show another chance. In fact, it was never given much of a chance at all. I learned about Legend of the Seeker through word of mouth only. I would also like to address the issue of the tweet on the SyFy twitter account about a marathon of Legend of the Seeker episodes that aired on SyFy but did not rate well. I would have loved to have watched such a marathon, but that tweet was the first I had heard of it! Please don’t hold the low ratings for that marathon against Legend of the Seeker. I would have tuned in to watch, but had no chance as I never saw any promotion for this event! I know many other fans were equally in the dark about the Seeker marathon. So many people have yet to learn of this fantastic show, and it deserves an actual opportunity to build a following.
Thank you for your time and please reconsider picking up Legend of the Seeker! I would love to follow my favorite show to the SyFy Channel!!
Sincerely, First Name, Last Name
I'm not sure how much it will help, but we have to try! So to all my fellow lurkers, and I know you're out there, now is the time to come out of lurkdom and be noisy about how much we love this show! That way we can keep lurking around on all the great conversations here for many more seasons to come! ;D

Lovely letters elin. I have been focusing my emails on that same topic, that it's only getting known by word of mouth and it takes time -- think what a little promotion would do...as well as the shortened season idea -- that would greatly cut costs and still give LotS a chance to be 'found' by other fans. Happy to give you your first karma as well. More lurkers out there...? It's now or never.
