Yes! Polite is the key word. I have no doubt Disney tried hard to sell the show...even though I think the skewed airing times + lack of promotion + need for people to watch it online b/c they missed it......contributed to the perception there aren't enough people watching. Unfortunately, Disney is a business and Sy Fy is a business. Fighting on in the spirit of Richard and Kahlan, with grace and courage, will go miles more than lashing out in Fury.

Thanks Extremis. Sounds like (politely) hounding Disney is the way to go -- it is them we need to change their minds.
As far as the mini-series idea - I have to say I don't like it. I would imagine we'd have no idea/guarantee we'd have OUR cast for that.

If Disney really, really wants to keep the show, they should get over their pocketbooks and compromise. They can still make a lot in the long run, it doesn't have to be just right now, now. Come on Disney, think longer term here! Not just short term.
Sorry for the mini rant, but if there's one thing I have a pev about it's the $$ having too much control over people/things. (In absolutist terms per say) Anyhow, like you said Tempest, the reality is, both studios are buisnesses and buisness is not always a smooth and unmessy process. Still, it sounds like there needs to be some more give and take on Disney's side. I'm deffinatly going to have to a lot to write out in my head tonight for letter in the morning. I do still see hope in those statements.
With enought fan support, Disney just maybe would be willing to drop the price to a get some deals done. We have to convince them of the long term payoff! Cause as we all know, there most deffinatly is one!

I agree Phoenix....money has too much power in the world. As jlyn says- my diplomacy was showing (searches for figleaf), but some compromise needs to be made. I think Walt, while he was a shrewd business man, was about investing in things he believed in with heart and spirit. LOTS has that to spare, so I hope Disney sees how much this show is loved and deserves to carry on. In all our upset, I can only imagine how Bridget and Craig are feeling Hopefully our efforts will show them how much they too, are loved.

From John McMakin on LOTS-FB Got one more idea. But it involves the sacrifice of one of you poor souls. Someone out there with no shame could post a clip of themselves on youtube, making a total fool of themselves about LOTS. I'm talking epic, like that "leave Britney alone" transvestite. Sorry, I can't do it. I have off-spring's future reputations to consider. But one of you out there might. U could become an e-lebrity while at the same time calling attention to our plight. www.facebook.com/LegendoftheSeeker
THAT would prolly get us some publicity ;D
More from John M: Another idea is to go to yahoo and search Legend of the Seeker. If we get enough people to search for it. It might get on the trending now top 10. That will at least call some attention to the show, possible acquiring some new fans.
(also if you have an account on IMDB, whenever you search for Legend of the Seeker, Bridget, Craig, Tab, their ratings go up You can also comment on the IMDB boards there too, and rate the show as well )
Tweeted by foreverfey: Awesome idea to help promote/save Seeker IMO: halfabubble.livejournal.com/91555.html
(XFiles fans did something similar to get XF2 made, we bought and placed an ad in the Hollywood Reporter--it did the trick & got FOX's attention, they said it made a big impact in them doing the movie )

Finally waking up from the post announcement numbness... .
When reading this thread I feel much better, you guys rock!
I live in Europe so it is not an option to buy Region 1 DVD sets or iTunes episodes for friends and family, but the add idea would work fine for me; count me in!
Meanwhile I am voting everywhere I can and I am writing emails to Disney, thanking them for LOTS and pointing out that there is a huge loyal global fan base (including Europe) and that there are still a lot of possibilities for them.
I just hope that the lack of an official ABC / Disney statement means that there are still possibilities.

I'll even buy the bluray version of season 2 and I don't have a bluray player! Seriously, who cares!? As long as LotS lives! FarLOTSfan there are ways to make your dvd player play region 1 dvds.. I have one player that I was able to change in order to allow region 1 dvds.. However, couldn't do it in all of them! LOL Maybe it's a thing with Portuguese players (they are crap)! AHAHA Let me know if you need any help.. Anything for LotS! We can do it! We can as long as we don't give up.

Actually with the right software you can play anything on any computer ... (even bought the iTunes episodes with my travelling US account). But my family & friends are, like most non-geek people, not that computer savy and just buy cheap dvd players that in most of the cases don't have a patch (or whatever) to make them regio free. So my point is that it is not an ok present at this time. When the region 2 DVDs come out my family will be bombarded with LOTS DVDs .

Okay fellow Seeker friends: I had a crazy idea last night, but think it might work. We should bombard Regis & Kelly with e-mails and tweets to try to get them to mention the fan based movement to save LotS on air. They are on ABC and they interviewed both Bridgit and Craig for season 1. Here is a link to their web site. bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/regisandkelly/index.htmlBe polite and ask them to mention the fan campaign on air. Also send paper letters as well. Post this idea on any LotS forum you can think of - the more they see it, the more likely they will be to mention it. Also, reading other posts - yes we need to concentrate on Disney but don't forget SyFy. Let them know that if they can come to an agreement with Disney, we will be there supporting the show and their network. Try to get them back to the table.
