Thanks Em. I'm looking forward to getting to chat more with you to. I'm glad you like my sig but unfortunately I cannot claim credit for it. One of my best friends made me a new livejournal layout for Christmas and that is a smaller version of the header. I'm sure she'll do more LotS, Richard/Kahlan art work in the future and I'll gladly steer you in that direction. I forgot I didn't credit her in my sig (fixed that now). My icon is by me though. By your friends username I would guess she was an Alias fan as well. The name sounds familiar, though I ran in the Jack/Irina fan circle I do have a few Syd/Vaughn fans as friends, so we might have some mutual acquaintances. If she posted on Sd-1 at all than I probably ran into her at some point (I did help run the art challenges towards the end). Small world, lol. Anyway I am em47 on LJ...do you mind if I add you as a friend? I can always use some LOTS fans Love the icon btw.

I do remember SD-1. I never posted there (more of a lurker) but I do know that Heidi i.e. freelancer_47 did so you might have known her. I don't mind at all. Always nice to have more LotS friends.

Cool And I might have known her - though I can't go back to check since the forum has pretty much been cleaned out. Fun times...if not crazy.

Hi, I'm Katie and I'm from Northern California. I was originally a fan of the books and have become completely obsessed with the show. I'm super stoked to have found a place where the people enjoy the show rather than just whining about how different it is than the books. Yes, they're different, but the characters are spot on, so how bad can it be? And yeah, loving the show, hardcore. Looking forward to talkin about it endlessly. Also, I'm pretty much into all things geek, Star Trek, Buffy, Angel, Firefly etc. Any questions, just ask.

I'm also happy to be around so much "LotS love." There's another board I'm a member of but I haven't visited as much lately . . . too many negative posts. Dont' get me wrong, most on the other board are positive but the negative people are very visceral. Anyway, we have the same tastes in shows and I've visited Northern California a few times. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities.

Hi Katie good to have some book lovers here, who have read the book before the show, but take the show as it is, without complaining

Thanks for the warm welcome. As for the books vs show, I see it the same as the Harry Potter movies. They're good, the books are better, but it's still way fun to see the characters brought to life. The show is surprisingly good, I was very impressed and excited when I saw how accurate it is. Made me very happy.

Hey Katie. Nice to see another Nor Cal girl here. I agree that it is possible to be a fan of both and not betray one or the other in terms of books versus tv/movies.

Hey, fellow LotS fans! I'm Mel, and obviously a Newbie to the Confessor and Seeker Society. ;D I'm psyched about the show and the book series, and think it's great that there's a forum about it. Y'know, to ask questions or see other people's opinions or vent about stuff that happens in the show/novels. I noticed you guys were mentioning TV shows, like Alias. I used to LOVE that show. I own every season on DVD. I'm also a geek...but w/e. My YouTube Channel (which can be found as my homepage) lists all the stuff I'm into. Which is a lot. I never used to want anything to do w/ Sci-Fi, but I'm definitely warming up to it. The nice thing I like about the TV show is that a) You don't have to be an ardent fan of the books to be a fan of the show, and b) You can like both of them w/o feeling any type of remorse. While the show is, in many ways, different than the book(s), they're obviously related and close enough that, as fides said, there's no sense of betrayal. I look forward to browsing the forum! ;D

Hi Mel! Welcome aboard...ahhh you have GOT to give into sci-fi. Seriously...there's no other genre in TV where women are as kick ass as they are in sci-fi and the men? They're so much hotter than on regular TV...I mean come ON Craig Horner, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Tom Welling, Justin Hartley, Jason Momoa, just to name a few... Have fun looks like that you're already making yourself home If you make videos or fanfiction we have our own video channel and fanfic archives where you can post your works into as well. The best of the Fanvids get posted in our channel often get featured on our main website Multipleverses.com.

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking here for a little while now, looking around and I just have to say a big thank you to everyone. I saw the first few shows, became interested and got the book. So, I've been cautiously going into the spoiler threads, hoping that I wouldn't find out something major that is going to happen or something huge that happens in a book that I'm not in yet.
I've been on another site, where when I decided I might like to see the movie Twilight, went into the thread and right away, there was a post that told three major plots in the last book, there by spoiling more than I ever wanted to know. It was awful, and took the surprise out of it.
But, here, everyone is really wonderful about putting up spoiler tags, even in the spoiler section and I cannot say how much I appreciate that. It gives me a freedom to move through without worrying about seeing more than I want to. So, thank you, so much for that. It really is appreciated!

You're welcome Briee - it was rather chaotic here when I opened the place w/ everyone just dropping things about the books w/o hiding them. I implemented the blank spoiler tag policy and everyone has been great about using them. Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! Hope to see you on the boards!

Ah, the forum is growing exponentially, it seems Welcome to all new members: fides, kater and Melmione! I'm glad to see you've already made yourself at home here and look forward to chatting with you more. And briee, thanks for that post - it's good to know the lurkers are geting something out of the forums too, even if they don't feel the need to post themselves. Though I really hope you'll roll with that post and talk to us more - we promise to be as nice as we are nice about spoiler-tagging
