This actually isn't his sword because it lacks the almost tribal pattern along the flat of the blade, up near the hilt, which we've seen many times. Also, the hilt itself is different, both in shape and because it again lacks the tribal/Celtic pattern. The one in the show also does not have any gold on it and has a more rounded pommel as well. This is probably a replica someone made. Very well done though. Click to enlarge:

Also the Sword of Truth from the show has black bands wrapping around the handle, and the word truth is not on the handle but the hilt. Those pictures of that sword look more like the sword from the books at each new chapter.

Well speaking of this, here's a bizarre resembles This is a Kit Rae design called Vaelen , I got it for my birthday , yeah i know it's bizarre. Well i got it right before the premier of the LotS and i jumped when I saw the familiar silhouette in the show. Now i prefer the SoT, as the guard and the hilt looks better, but i'll keep the pommel ;D

Wow, mippippippi that does look pretty close to the Sword of Truth on the show....that is soooo crazy that you got it even before the show even start. Curious who actually made the Sword of Truth for the show, cause I think that would be the coolest thing to actually own a real sword replica of the one on the show. I think I would definetely buy that even though it would be super expensive!!!

Well, I'm a fencer and my great-grandfather was a cavalryman, he thought me how to use a sword though back then i was 10 years old and I was as tall as his cavalry sabre and he was about 80 ;D So I started my collection with that cavalry sebre and I was very happy when my colleagues surprise me with that peace of steal, so yeah it may seem bizarre but it has a great meaning to me. As for SoT , as i said the sword in my previous post is designed by Kit Rae and he worked for productions like Lord of the Rings and Hellboy. So either the design of the sword of Vaelen was used as a base for the SoT because it has a good, mighty, stylish and yet rather scary silhouette or it's a modification supervised by Rae.

Awesome sword, mippippipp! And it does look very similar to Richard's sword. I love swords, and have two from Xena, have always thought of getting one from Lord of the Rings though I'm kinda running out of wall space. I think I shall have to google that one.

Cool sword Mipp! Wondering how heavy it is...just curious. It looks substantial, like it would be on the heavy side.
I took fencing lessons years ago - it was lots of fun. Wish I could say I was any good. Although I did kick a couple guys' butts in class. ;D

I wish I had a sword...and that I knew how to use them... I always wanted to take fencing lessons so I could use that to learn how to fight with swords. It's always been something that fascinated me. There's a store that sells swords and such in a mall not too far away from where I live, and I've always wanted to go into that place and come out carrying this amazing, perfectly-sized sword and sheath. Ah, I'm a dreamer. That sword carries a striking resemblence to the Sword of Truth, mipps! Great find! It's wicked that you're getting authentic material from Kit Rae, too.

*major facepalm*I hate when opportunities pass you by, and you only realize just how much you wish you could've acted on it after that fact. I could have purchased that exact same Vaelen sword by Kit Rae for a mere $75 a couple days ago. No sheath, though, but still. Wow. Go figure. I was immediately drawn to it due to the similarity in the hilt to the Sword of Truth. It's now driving me crazy that I didn't get it. I know some folks who make swords - authentic ones, such as Kit Rae - take requests for swords. Perhaps someone will make a Sword of Truth request at some point?
