Our community is a year old and like any great community there are always areas where we can improve. I have come up with a list of new open positions that are open to anyone to apply for. For some of them if you want to join on as partners that’s fine.
If you are interested in these positions understand that I expect you to be a self-starter and require little direction on what to do (other than in the beginning.) You’ll receive new status as a CSS Staff Member and will be entirely responsible for your particular duty. I’m not interested in people applying who flake out after a month – so please only apply if you’re willing to put the time into it. These positions are highly specialized so I recommend that you only apply for one of them. I’ve offered suggestions below on what the position would entail, but truly it’s up to the person who takes the position to make it his/her own – enthusiasm and creativity are encouraged.
1) Fanfic Archivist Have a possible recruit.
2) Fanart Archivist
3) Fan Video Archivist
4) CSS Podcast
5)Multipleverses LOTS Episode Reviewer -
If you’re interested in any of these positions just let me know here in the thread!
Thanks!
Erika

Here at CSS we have a lovely easy to use and read from Fanfic Archive. We are looking for someone who would like to be in charge of keeping it updated with recent fics. This simply means contacting our fellow writers and suggesting they post them there. If they are confused with the process, you would assist them by helping them to figure out how to upload their fics.
If you wanted to go that extra mile of heading out onto the web and inviting other great non-CSS fic writers to contribute – that would be great too…maybe they would want to join CSS as wellThe Fanfic Archivist would also post quarterly polls for members to select fics of the month that will be highlighted on our main website.
Finally – I’d like for us to have a full author listing for the site that our archivist would maintain and update so that readers can have one place to pick/find fics! This list would also be posted on our main website also.
Since this individual would be working in the adult fanfic area as well – the volunteer must be over 17 years in age.
2) Fanart Archivist
we’re looking for someone who’s willing to keep our Fanart Gallery updated. Members have to sign up to have their work added to the gallery. Your job as the archivist will be to upload their works to the gallery, or upload anything that the artist’s upload themselves. For prolific artists, gather all of their art by type (avatars, banners, etc) and zip them up and forward them to myself and I’ll add batch add the files. Knowledge of Coppermine is a bonus but not a requirement.
I’d like for our site to have ‘artists of the month’ who we spotlight on our main website, the Fanart archivist would be in charge of setting up polls or figuring out ways for us to determine who that artist would be. Perhaps the art archivist could create an archived list of our artists as well.
3) Fan Video Archivist
This individual would assist our forum members to upload/backup their works into the CSS Video Channel - members can goto THIS THREAD to learn about the video channel.
As the archivist you can upload videos for our members yourself, including embedding videos that are already published on Youtube. The benefit of loading the videos directly onto Magnify – they aren’t heavily monitored like Youtube and you don’t have to worry about your vids being pulled.
I’d like to add a Fan Video artist of the month to our main website. Our video archivist would be in charge of the polls to determine who each selection will be.
We would also like an archived list, like for the fanfic area where we can list out all of our different fanvideo artists so that casual browsers can easily locate them.
4) CSS Podcast
Don’t ask me the particulars on how this would work because I don't have the technical know-how, BUT if anyone here would be interested in creating a podcast for our site, it would be A GREAT way for our community to get some exposure AND a great way to spread the LOTS love out onto the internet! If this was done after each new episode or every couple of episodes we will happily highlight them on our main website and on Mulitpleverses!
5)Multipleverses LOTS Episode Reviewer -
I did these once in a while last year, but now that I’m fully maintaining our communty’s main website, I don’t have time to write full episode reviews. If anyone is interested, please PM me a sample. If you are selected I’ll set you up with logins for MV and give you the basics on how to post on Wordpress (if you post on Livejournal – you can post on MV.) This is your opportunity to share a positive view of the show onto the internet and become a published writer! Reviews do not have to be long but they should have substance to them. Please look over my season 1 episode reviews for examples of what I’m looking for – again the reviews don’t have to be hugely detailed, but should be more than just blurbs.
If you’re interested in any of these positions just let me know here in the thread!
Thanks!
