So I've been thinking things over and I'm contemplating lifting the ban on the use of LOTS spoiler images in avatars and signature blocks. Why? We don't seem to have a very large anti-spoiler phobe community here and I don't want to continue to stifle people's desire to showcase their semi-spoilery S2 artwork and show their excitement for season 2 (it's coming folks...FINALLY!) There would likely be some qualifiers if this is lifted. - 1) Animated gifs from episodes are NOT allowed to be used as avatars or used in banners or gifs until after the episode has aired over the duration of the full weekend.
- 2) Any artwork that depicts BOOK spoilers will not be allowed.
Spoiler images that WOULD be allowed would be:- A) Any and all official promo photos that ABC releases.
- B) Any screencaps derived from episode/season type promo videos that ABC releases. (Promos for the next week's eps, etc.)
I'm putting this to a general vote to the forums. Majority will not necessarily win. IF there is a big enough objection we'll keep things as-is. Please note that this possible change in board rules does NOT affect our other general spoiler policies - this ONLY relates to photos. Please vote in the poll and voice your opinion on the topic, I'm looking for constructive feedback. |

I voted to lift the ban... I'm dying here for S2 and would love to see people's pictures for it!

I voted to lift as well! The impression I get is that everyone on these boards have probably already seen the promo for S2 and are dying to get their hands on any spoilers possible.

I'd love an example of book spoiler artwork - is there a grey line in this or a huge no through fare plastered about?  Major book spoilers like key elements of plots, events, characters, magical places/powers that haven't or wouldn't take place in the show, that's pretty much a no-no. But what about minor book spoilers? In my book, (har), minor book spoilers would be apples, green eyes, raptor gaze, five minutes, kissing, hair - anything that would describe something already in the show but not really reveal anything new about what isn't? |

Pretty much if it hasn't happened on the show, it's considered a book spoiler.

I voted to lift. I would love to use artwork from the season 2 promo, and I haven't seen anyone who doesn't like to view the spoilers? If there are people who object to it though, then it should stay. But so far, it seems like everyone is okay with seeing these images. |

Agreed. Lift! If the images are out there most of us have been scouting for them anyway.
Being a computer dummy, I can't usually figure out how to save them, but at least it's nice to see them.

I voted to lift the ban! I LIKE spoilers altough for season 1 I didn't read any spoilers and never watched the episode promos before I saw the episode. The reason is that I watched the whole season 1 in 3 weeks (I just discovered the show on May) so I didn't felt the need to be spoiled because I could watch the next episode whenever I wanted.
Now with season 2 it's different because the wait is loooong and I couldn't survive without watching the preview or reading any spoilers! ;D

We'll soon have more promotional footage for S 2 *at least that's what I hope* and it would be torture keeping our hands off them until the season premieres ;D

I voted to lift the ban aswell. I've always had a weak spot for getting and loving spoilers! Also, the images only tell a tiny little bit of what is REALLY going on! hehe Lift, Lift. (this is what happens when I have periods where I don't/can't get on the boards all the time LOL)
