I think it's interesting that ComicCon is end of next week so this would coincide if they were going to announce there (as some people believe).
marvel_geek #legendoftheseeker Starz rep said we should know something in a week. So start calling Seeker fans.... about 2 hours ago via web

The moment someone announce a 3rd season of LotS I'm gonna have a colapse and recover prob some hours later! Just saying! xD __________
On Thursday 15th July 2010, @winettemay said:
I've just spoke to a lovely lady at Starz, and err OMG, VERY positive. So much so I had to kick myself a little. So yeah, I just spoke to a lady and I was just expecting to say my suggestion and her be like, 'I'll pass it on to the appropriate people, thanks for ringing Starz'. But it went down different... I said, I'm ringing to suggest a programming suggestion for Starz and asked if that's okay. She said, 'Yes, can I ask what the programming suggestion is ma'am? I was like, 'Legend of the Seeker'. She said that they had actually had lots of calls for that show and she actually said obviously a lot of people have rang about it. She mentioned about it being a syndicated show, so I was like, 'Uh hu', and then... THEN she said that it has been passed along to the higher ups and did, I mean, did I hear this right? She said they're trying to acquire the rights? *Scratches head*.

DianaP, from what u said I didn't hear that they are trying to acquire the rights, did I miss something? I really don't know what we are suppose to do if Starz doesn't pick it up. I am not above getting down on the knees, not sure I'd be able to get up, tho. I've written to Starz and called, last week, time to calla gain Can any one tell me what does "syndicated show"? Whoever get's Our Seeker I hope they do it right this time. The ONLY advertising I saw for LotS was for the premiere, 2 yrs ago, come on. Did any one see any other advertising, any thing at all? Cause I sure didn't. And u wonder why they had low ratings, don't get me started.
When I hear about a 3rd season, I'm gonna have a bottle of wine, all to myself, so there.

I just tweeted the following:
SnazzyO @starz_channel If you pick up Legend of the Seeker, I will buy the STARZ channel from my provider.
What the heck, why not try the direct approach?

Sybil, It wasn't me who said it. It was @winettemay.

Sybil - ABC/Disney originally produced LotS to be sold into syndication. Which means that they produced it to be sold to other networks instead of for ABC. They then sold seasons 1 & 2 to Tribune networks. It was the Tribune networks "responsibility" to advertise the show to bring viewers to their network. (And we all know how miserably they failed at this.) Tribune went into bankruptcy and told ABC that they wouldn't be purchasing any more seasons. That's when ABC went back to the industry upfronts (held in May for syndication) to pitch the show and then entered into negotiations with SyFy. Which we know fell through. By then it was past the May upfronts, so the best we can figure is that ABC then said "never mind" we will just not produce any LotS anymore. (Guessing on this part.)
So if Starz does buy or lease the rights to produce from ABC/Disney then they will most likely produce the show for themselves and can structure it however they want to.
Hope this answers some of your questions.

Definitely can't hurt! Good idea! I told them I would subscribe to Starz when I called and also told them I wouldn't wait for LotS to be aired but would do so as soon as they announced they would be producing the show.

She's involved in media somehow. Her Twitter says host of Moviefone Minute. She interviewed Craigy awhile back and asked him my question -- finally finding out when his birthday was!!

I don´t think journalist can know Starz contacts with ABC.
Keep sending mails and calling (STARZ, ABC, Sam Raimi and DirecTV)

I would think that any negotiations, etc. going on would be kept VERY quiet for all the same reasons as we have discussed - publicity backlash, etc.

I know it's money and viewership that really matters, but how can you see those Pass It On vids and not realize the viewer potential of this show?!?!?!
