Not to mention there was a direct-to-video movie by that same title just a few years ago that is also unrelated. www.imdb.com/title/tt0484562

From the Hollywood Reporter:'Fringe' Renewed for Fifth and Final Season: The Fox drama will return for a 13-episode season, allowing the series to hit 100 episodes. Fox has renewed the cult drama for a fifth and final season, giving the go-ahead on 13 more episodes. The renewal will bring the sci-fi series to an end after 100 episodes, a critical syndication threshold for the series' studio, Warner Bros. TV.I don't watch "Fringe", but isn't it nice to see a network support one of its shows, even when said show is in decline? Even though it will only be 13 more episodes, at least fans of that show will know that the next season will be the last, and it will have a proper conclusion. I highlighted the part about "100 episodes and syndication", because I have often wondered what the deal is with Disney/ABC and not showing "LoTS" in syndication in the U.S.? They are showing the series in many countries in Europe, so why not here? So many questions: Have they not offered "LoTS" yet for re-runs in the U.S.? Or, have they offered it but no stations are interested in rerunning it? Are 2 seasons not considered enough to pick up a show for reruns? Is ABC asking too much money for 2 seasons as reruns? Is it Tribune being spiteful, and refusing to rerun the show on any of their stations? I don't really understand this one. I suppose this means that when we write our letters and postcards, we need to keep on pushing for reruns as well. It would help our cause so much if "LoTS" were to be rerun on any network in the U.S.!

I've watched Fringe since its first show and loved it. I love that it's made it to its 5th season but I really hate that this is the final season. But, at least, it had 5 yrs and they know that the end is coming, unlike some other shows that we know, that didn't even get a wrap party. Don't get me going *^%$@$^&
I don't understand why we don't get reruns here either, that's another *&%^#$@%^& O, I need cake....

Perhaps a teeny bit off topic but is anyone planning to attend San Diego Comicon in July?

I read some where that ranting is good for the soul. Well, maybe I didn't read it but it sounds good. I'm peeved and "Tribune ongoing bankruptcy complicates the issue", really? Why any one would make any kind of deals with this network is one of those things that befuddies the mind. ^%$@*(&^ Don't get me going!
I wonder how much of a hand Tribune had in Our Seeker not being picked up for another season? If an other network had it, it could have done better, :(maybe it'd still be going to day.
deacon, it sure is nice to know that some things NEVER change.

TERRY GOODKIND Messages:
-June/2011: Terry Goodkind about a Season 3: "There is no such rumbling (yet) but we hear (often) of the fans' continued interest and it hasn't gone unnoticed by all parties involved."
-April/2012 "Where the public can influence a production, is by continuing to let their voices be heard. From Futurama to the successful "brown shirts" campaign from Firefly, fan groups have absolutely carved the way for the re-ignition of a beloved series. You guys (SOS campaign in particular) are doing an incredible job. Almost entirely because of your efforts, I have not heard any reason why the doors that have been closed on LOTS could not be reopened. The very reason most of the language about the show's cancellation has been non-definitive and generally vague is because of your effort."
***Please keep writing your letters & postcards in the 'Journey Book Campaign' to continue to let the networks/executives know about the fans' HUGE interest in having more LotS***
>"Journey Book Campaign" for April/2012 with CONTEST - Prizes are: an Autographed Photo by Bridget Regan, and a Book Plate signed by Terry Goodkind. Details for the Contest are here: t.co/dRbe32Hg
Please also participate in any other ways that you're able to, to promote LotS to other fans - the more Seeker fans there are, the louder our voice is to the parties involved who are making decisions
Other ways such as:

Guinness World Record Attempt for LOTS: Please add your "Family Friendly" comments to this LOTS Thread where Seeker fans are trying to beat a Guinness World Record to 1 Million Comments by May 1st/2012 in order to draw attention to our cause of wanting more LotS (Comments must be at least 3 characters long, and stay within the Group Rules: www.facebook.com/groups/269657990457/10150599351250458/ ) There's already over 750,000 Comments You'll need to Request to "Join the Group" first ) Here's the Direct link to the thread to add your comments to: www.facebook.com/groups/269657990457/10150513278600458/

It means a lot to hear this message from Terry Goodkind. Sometimes we as fans fall into a rut and vent our frustrations, but then along comes a hopeful message like this one. You are the barer of good news! Yes, this is a good reason to go to ... and write some letters...

Extremis, that's inspirational indeed -- Can you please share how/where this quote came about? I see it's from April of this year but is this something Terry said in an interview or what? I'm always hesitant to get excited without a source. Thanks!

Extremis, that's inspirational indeed -- Can you please share how/where this quote came about? I see it's from April of this year but is this something Terry said in an interview or what? I'm always hesitant to get excited without a source. Thanks! Apparently some rumors were being spread on the internet that a private group was planning to fund Season 3, so sot_fan from the S.O.S. Team took the question to Terry Goodkind himself. She figured that if anyone would know about this, he would. And, Terry was gracious enough to respond.
This is what sot_fan posted on another Seeker fan website:There have been some recent rumors on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2696...0680010425458/) as well as on a fan site (http://legendoftheseeker.site.cx/) about "a private foundation and financial group" talking about funding a 3rd season of 'Legend of the Seeker' so we at SaveOurSeeker.com, verified with Terry Goodkind's team. Below is the statement from Goodkind. NOTE: While the rumor is what it is... just a rumor, read what Goodkind had to say about the SOS campaign. Keep fighting!!! Too many red flags here to count. Announcing production of any kind without consulting principle stakeholders, discussing salary and/or contractual concerns for actors publicly (particularly with language like "if they are not too greedy") is very unrealistic. The original show budget was a fixed $2.5 Million per episode. $100 Million is almost double that amount and yet they describe profitability and salaries as being a bigger concern. For a legitimate organization, getting in touch with Craig Horner (or anyone else from the show for that matter), would not be a problem. Disney owns the LOTS rights and while there is the potential for them to restart any of their properties or allow sub-licensing of some kind, they will never release those rights. Rights are the stock and trade of content and production houses — on equivalent to how Apple buys and protects patents. These kinds of deals simply do not happen without a lot of convincing and cozying up to the rights-holder [Disney in this case]. And part of that checklist involves approval from stakeholders like Terry himself. It would never happen in a public forum. Where the public can influence a production is by continuing to let their voices be heard. From Futurama to the successful "brown shirts" campaign from Firefly, fan groups have absolutely carved the way for the re-ignition of a beloved series. You guys (SOS campaign in particular) are doing an incredible job. Thanks Deacon! I appreciate having the full background on it. I'd actually checked for Laura's post over at LotS.org (already assuming that's where it had come from) but missed it. I like the sound/idea of sub-licensing the rights...makes me more hopeful than ever!

Well, our voices have been heard. I like knowing that. But, I can't see LotS getting picked up as a series, but I can see MANY mini-series. Now that would be okay with me. And it would give all the actors the times to do other things.
