Legend of the Seeker fans are out to save their favorite show, which is apparently on the very edge of cancellation after just two seasons on the air. There's nothing official yet, actually, but the usually reliable Michael Ausiello reported the other day on his Entertainment Weekly blog, The Ausiello Files, that the powers that be are ready to put a sword in the cult-favorite fantasy show that stars Bridget Regan, Craig Horner, Bruce Spence, and Tabrett Bethell. Ausiello (and co-writer Andy Patrick) reported hearing from "multiple sources" that the series, produced by ABC Studios and airing in first-run syndication, would not return because its largest customer, Tribune Station Group, had dropped it in too many markets to make the production costs viable. Ausiello also reported that ABC Studios attempted to find a home for Legend of the Seeker at other networks, Syfy among them, but no one bit, thereby sealing its fate. Kahlan and Richard would never give up the fight, of course, and Legend of the Seeker fans are kindred spirits and a hardy lot. So, anyone interested in helping the show secure a third season can do their part by signing an online fan petition at PetitionSpot, purchasing advertising in a trade publication (thoughts on that here), and by writing to ABC Studios executives at: ABC Studios 500 S. Okay fellow Seeker friends: I had a crazy idea last night, but think it might work. We should bombard Regis & Kelly with e-mails and tweets to try to get them to mention the fan based movement to save LotS on air. They are on ABC and they interviewed both Bridgit and Craig for season 1. Post this idea on any LotS forum you can think of - the more they see it, the more likely they will be to mention it. Also, reading other posts - yes we need to concentrate on Disney but don't forget SyFy. Let them know that if they can come to an agreement with Disney, we will be there supporting the show and their network. Try to get them back to the table. I think that is a good idea, anyway to get other people talking about this instead of just us will get ABC/Disney's attention. Would you be willing to mention the avid fan response upon hearing that ABC/Disney does not plan to renew for a third season? Fans absolutely love this show but it gets little promotion - but still has 2+Million viewers each week (all word of mouth!). You had the stars of the show, Bridget Regan and (adorable Aussie) Craig Horner on your show before. Hopefully Kelly won't remember that Craigy called her Kathy (oops!) Somehow I don't see them doing this as ABC/Disney is their boss...but I'm willing to try. |

I am also searching legend of the seeker whenever I feel like it on Yahoo to get it on that trending thing. Does anyone know anything about getting an article on Yahoo?

Maybe if we can get such shows like inside edition interested or Entertainment tonight. I thought I would email them and see what happens. If they get enough email they might get interested in the story.

Well I've donated to the variety ad compaign and sent a message to Regis and Kelly. Now I'm just hoping that we can all be more united. I know that right now on LJ they are trying to unite all the various campaigns into one website where all info can be accessed!
Don't give up guys! I've been a part of quite a few fan campaigns that have worked!
