Petition for a 3rd season!

I want a season 3 and will be sending out letters/emails later today to help the cause. I just want to understand why they are not willing to renew LOTS for a third season? Or is the series really in that much danger of not getting renewed? I haven't seen or heard anything outside of this forum about the chances of cancellation.

It's all based on ratings. This season ratings are down quite a bit from averaging 3 million to below/around 2.5 this season.

We don't know for sure that they're not going to renew it. But if we let TPTB know that the show has lots of fan support that will let them know that there are people watching who might not be getting counted in ratings figures.

Oh, I watch but I don't have a neilson box so it doesn't really matter if I am watching the show. I also think it's suffering here in Los Angeles because they show a new Legend of the Seeker epsiode at 4pm on Sundays. Last year it was on Saturdays at 5 and 6pm which was a much better time to watch for me.

This year because of the NFL season I've missed the live airings of the episodes in favor of watching the NFL games. I don't have cable but if I did WGN does show Legend of the Seeker on Saturdays from 2-3pm here in Los Angeles. I think the new timeslot and day that they decided to air it has greatly effected this years ratings.

I found Mike's twitter account and I took his advice and bought a few of this seasons episodes in HD on itunes. I am not going to buy the DVD boxset because it's not in Blu-ray.

I think Mike's tweet inspired us to take action (it never hurts to let the studio/stations know that you're watching/loving a show ;D )

I don't know of anyone who is a Neilsen family. All the more reason to let ABC know that we're loving LotS ;D
( I still don't get how neilsen could be accurate, if I surveyed 100 people I know, results would be WAY different )

With Hulu, iTunes, Netflix, Tivo, DVD sales, etc...they have a lot to figure out and consider, so it sure doesn't hurt if we help them to realize that we are here and watching

Hey guys, so in addition to sending out letters and emails I want to do something else for LotS!

I am thinking of making a fan vid - starring the fans! I will put something together starring the fans, it can be handwritten messages, videos of yourself, or pics of you holding up signs (over your faces if you don't feel comfortable) saying something like "LotS FTW" or Don't make a fangirl cry!

Basically something fun that we can make and show how much the fans are invested in this show- and maybe we can tweet it to Mike S or Bridget! Anything to get noticed, I have no shame in promoting us LotS fans!

I will use that email you posted to get them to reconsider the timeslot for LOTS. I've been reading that written letters are better than emails? Do they mean handwritten letters or Can I type it and print it out?

I typed my in MS Word and then printed it out. Type it up and print it. It's still a letter all the same!
