How to post spoiler codes:
So after playing around with things today I've figured out a way that book spoilers can be allowed in the episode discussion threads - however, you must use spoiler code AROUND the spoilerific part of your post.
What constitutes a spoiler? Anything that hasn't happened in the series yet but happened in the books. If you reply to a spoiler and your reply contains spoilerish content, you need to make sure that you code around your spoilers as well. I'll make a guide for this to post in the forums on the weekend, but until then here's how to do this!
For this to work, the background colors of our forums will always be black. You need to use the codes that I'm giving you here to surround the text:
[spoilers highlight to read]Richard is the Seeker and thinks Kahlan is really Hot.[/spoilers]
Code dissection:
Before you post a spoiler - you need to type in coding (or use the WYSIWYG color change options to grab the code) alerting that it's a book spoiler, If you want to bold it you can, but making it Kermit the Frog green or red contrasts things enough to alert people that there's a spoiler coming up.
[spoilers highlight to read]Blackened Spoiler text goes here[/spoilers]
The main text on our boards is set to be yellow - if you make the text BLACK, people can't see the text against the pure black background. To read the text when the post is created, simply drag your mouse and highlight the blackened area and you'll be able to read it.
Richard is the Seeker and thinks Kahlan is really Hot.
How to post Image codes
Proboards has a very distinct way of utilizing html type coding to post photos and links. You can either use the buttons that are all located right above your text box to start the code, or do it manually.
Here's a little visual on how the coding works:
How to update your Profile
Instructions for Updating your PROFILE on Proboards.
You can update your avatar and signature by clicking on the PROFILE link that’s located at the top of the page under the site’s banner.
When the page comes up, click on >MODIFY PROFILE.
Avatars for Proboards are 100x100. You can either select one from the list that I uploaded into the database or you can copy the URL of one of your own into it.
**NOTE** Please upload your avatar/banners into your own hosting service, do not "snag" a url from the artist who created it and upload it. Doing this is called HOTLINKING and it steals the bandwidth from the Artist.
You can also designate a saying to go directly under your avatar.
For Signatures I ask that they be no taller than 400 pixels and no wider than 600 pixels across. To enter goodies into your signature area you will need to use bracket coding
Keep the images clean and have fun! Avatars help to create your online identity so have fun!
