Hey everyone I'm Louisa! I just moved to New York from Maryland, and Ive been wanting to join for a while now. I was hooked the first time I saw Legend of The Seeker on t.v. (the first episode I saw was Princess!) and I'm working on the books now. I'm almost through book two but I'm trying to make it last. I hope I can help with the save our seeker efforts; everything about LOTS really changed alot about who I am as a person and I can't wait till we get our show back! Really excited that I joined!

Hello everyone, I just started watching the DVDs, inspired by fan videos I found on YouTube, many made by members here. I enjoyed the show so much, but without commercial breaks it's so much more epic (and easier to follow the plot...) and the fan art is so wonderful, thanks you guys for keeping the dream alive and helping me rediscover it. I hope Season 3 can be brought to life some day. I hardly watch TV any more, this was one of the best shows to happen in prime time in as long as I can remember. I haven't decided whether I will read the books or not, I came across an interview where Craig mentioned the torture sequences are actually much more grisly and disturbing, and for me the show was actually awfully intense. I can watch R rated movies, but usually the protagonists hide their feelings more than our stars do when they get hurt, and that changes the way you respond to the violence. Still, it is tempting to find out more about Richard and Kahlan. But for now I'm actually re-reading LOTR for the first time since I saw the movies. About me, I'm a public health student in Las Vegas. I just got accepted to a PhD program here for fall, and I'm about to give my oral defense for the masters tomorrow. I grew up in Oklahoma but have been living in Vegas for about ten years. Half the time I introduce myself as from Vegas, I see this: www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=IJ6QkihnsUQ ...running through people's heads.

Welcome aboard gavinrose!! Don't you just love the fan vids??!! We have some very talented people in this fandom So many of us feel as you do about Seeker...truly one of the most beautiful shows to have been on television and one of the very few shows we cared enough about to watch. Obviously only you can decide if you want to read the books, but I will say countless fans of the show have found them to be their most beloved books series ever (me included!). They can be dark and even violent in parts, but I found those parts to be brief and essential to the overall message Terry Goodkind was trying to get across. The depth of characters is so much more profound in the books, it's impossible to bring to screen what is described on those pages. As much as I loved the show, the books are so much more in depth at bringing us a truly epic story. Glad you found us and good luck to you with your oral! See you on the boards!

Fan craziness is the very best kind! Thanks for letting me know some more about the level of violence in the books, jlyn, that's mainly what I was worried about. If those sequences aren't too long I think I will read them after all. I remember reading a fantasy novel a long time ago that culminated in a torture sequence that was incredibly gruesome and ended in what to me seemed like a meaningless tragedy, so I am a little wary of torture themes in fantasy now. But I do see how important the torture sequences in the series are to the story and the character development, and I was really impressed with the emotional depth and complexity of those episodes, so I can see how reading the source of those characters and experiences could be worth the discomfort. Everything went really well today with my defense, so I will have a master's degree by the end of this summer! Hoping to have lots of down time very soon to celebrate - mainly to finish watching the DVDs before I have to get busy again with more school.

Hello!
I came across Legend of the seeker back in June and since spending a week going through and watching all of season 1 and 2 I was so immersered into the show that I found it hard to comprehend it ending just like that. Soon I found myself diving into the books to learn and delve further into this amazing world Terry Goodkind has created!
Luckily cause I was on my school holidays at the time I managed to dedicate much of my time to reading them that i managed to read all of them in two weeks. After I finished the books I turned to reading the fanfiction made my many of the members here and found it a great way to imagine things that could have happened!
I main part of the stories and the show I loved is that Richard and Kahlan stood together against all obstacles they were faced with and never wavered in hope when either one of them was endangered. Their is resilience and perseverance in even the most bleak of situations is incredibly inspiring to me and definitely gave me a new look on life!

That's exactly how I feel about Legend of the Seeker/Sword of Truth! I don't think a series or books have ever grabbed all of my attention like this before. I hope to contribute as much as I can to CSS in my time here!
Thank you for the welcome zoodyac!

Hello there Im Ashley Dyane and I hail from Virginia. I started watching this show this year I had always enjoyed the whole fantasy genre. I know im probably a bit late getting into this series as its not airing anymore and most of the fandoms seem a little dead. I do plan on eventually reading the books when im on break but that's not till summer.
