Hi Kris! Welcome to the forum Kahlan is definitely one of the great "strong women" - I'm so glad that they brought these characters on TV - girls can use seeing her as a new role model

Hi all!! I'm Brian and I'm from Minnesota. Thanks Erika for this site!! It's absolutely great. Love the pics. I first heard about the show while reading Terry Goodkinds website. After having read the whole series and then hearing about the show I freaked out and immediately began coming up with actors and actresses to playing the key roles. LOL. What can I say? I'm going to have to try real hard to take Erika's advice and keep telling myself that the show and books are two separate entities. So far I really like what I've seen. Let's have fun with this site gang!

Hi Brian! I so need to read the books again...well and get through the whole series this time without wanting to chuck my books across the room screaming - LOL! I understand why book purists are upset/confused/whatever - I just refuse to get all worked up over the differences. Adaptations are just that - they're adaptations. They're meant to be different, yet lure people into being interested in checking out the original sources as well. The show isn't campy, the FX are great, the actors are all VERY appealing and talented, the music is intoxicating, the scenery is lush, the costumes are rich beautiful, and the storytelling is compelling in it's own right. I'm glad that you're enjoying it, I think this week's ep looks great

Hi I'm skritek from the US. I've been a Kahlan/Richard fan for 14 years and now they're being depicted by real people! More new R&K moments! I was really sad when the Sword of Truth series ended last year but got really excited once I read the news about LotS. Right now LotS is the only show I look forward to. I watch Fringe & Sanctuary but I don't really anticipate or much less have the urge to rewatch an episode. It's great that more people will get to know Richard & Kahlan. Thank you for creating this forum!

Hm, well, let's see... my name is Dane, but you can call me Sesi, Crimson, Rhino, or... Dane erm... I heard tell of LotS through RangerCast; as some of you may know, David de Lautour (who plays Michael Cypher) was a Ranger this past season, so when I heard he (and a couple of his Ranger co-stars) were going to be in this show, I thought I'd give it a watch. Eh... what else? Well, I live in Southern California - and no, I don't live near a celebrity I am a minor acquaintance of a few, however! ;D I'm 20 years old. I'm a very strange person and a huge sci-fi geek. Like Erika, I used to be really into Star Wars! I could name planets and whatnot! I still like it, but I'm not as crazy as I used to be. I still do prefer it over Star Trek any day. I love Heroes, Primeval (Brits get all the good stuff, just look at James Murray), cows, moose, drinking vinegar, and eating a strange combination of foods. Web-related, I have a blog that I post entries in numerous times each week. I also run a couple of fanlistings and procrastinate on schoolwork. Most of the time I'm playing Neopets or Wajas because I'm a silly adult who hasn't found the time to properly grow up yet. Speaking of which, I like anime and reading manga, though I haven't done either in quite a while. Beware, for I am a grammar Nazi. Especially in the mornings and late at night, when I'm rather cranky from lack of sleep or too much of it. I think I'm rambling. Am I rambling? Yep. Okay. That's it for now, ask me anything and I will answer!

Hee hee - welcome Dane! Glad that you made it to our community.
I have to say that thanks to my love of Star Wars, I LOVE Kahlan's green outfit, particularly when she's got the hood up - she reminds me of Padme in her green dress in ROTS.

I love all the outfits from LotS, except maybe Zedd's because he's kind of a freaky old man XD I LOVE Richard's and Kahlan's and Michael's, though. There's just something about... what's it called... medieval wear. Though it does bug me that girls back then didn't wear pants, gah! I can't imagine wearing dresses and skirts all the time, I'd feel self-conscious every second of my life!
In other news: I once dreamt of having Darth Maul's face tattooed on my back. Hey, I might do that yet, if I don't get the crest of Gryffindor House instead.
In other, other news: me in luff with Michael <3 obviously? XD

I am ImmerRDA and I live in the US but have been fortunate enough to live in many different places and travel quite a bit. I lived in Japan and in Germany twice. I've lived in South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Mississippi. I love meeting people from all over the world because I've found that people everywhere are wonderful!
I was checking out LJ for people who are interested in LotS and/or communities for the same and came across Erika's LJ. I sent her a message and she replied almost immediately and directed me here. This place is fantastic! I fell in love with LotS when I saw the "Making of the LotS" and knew that I was going to love it. My hubby loves it too! I had never heard of Terry Goodkind even though I used to read lots of fantasy and science fiction. After "Making" aired I went out and bought the first book and can't put it down. I have been a major, major Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis fan for the last six years and have been depressed because of the cancellation of both series. I beta read for someone who writes Stargate fan fiction and hope that she will continue to write even though the shows are almost at an end.
I have been making digital art for the last four years and have just recently started making walls for LotS. I need to make a LotS icon! Not sure where or how to post the art yet but will share when I figure out that part.
My favorite part about LotS is Kahlen. I love seeing strong, intelligent female characters in television shows. That was one reason I liked SG-1 so much. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is my hero and a wonderful role model for young women everywhere. I think Kahlen embodies many similar characteristics and that has drawn me to her and the show. I also like the relationship she has with Richard. Talk about angst and UST! I can already see that there's going to be a lot of that in the series. I hope to hear from you and am looking forward to making new friends in the LotS universe!

ImmerRDA: Welcome welcome Come and join us, have fun I´m also a Stargate fan, I used to watch it every afternoon after school. I loved the show. I wasn´t too crazy about seasons 9+10 :-( I just couldn´t get into it, I missed Jack too much. He was such a great character. I liked Sam Carter, too. I haven´t seen the season where she works as a leader in SGA, I need to check it out. Looking forward to talking to you about LOTS and other things
