This Fandom is so amazing, just touching. One of these days I'm coming on here and I'll read the news that will tell me that Our Seeker was picked up by _________ and we'll be getting a 3rd season. When that day comes, what are u going to be doing? Just something to think about.
A big thank you again to those of you that submitted all the designs for the poster ad campaign that will take place during Comic-Con and DragonCon!
We wanted to do a quick recap of how the sos.com campaign funds have been spent/allocated to-date, and share some ideas for future campaigns. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Accounting update: Money spent or allocated to recent campaigns:
* DVD drive: ~$9,000 * Bus shelter ad: $475 * Poster ads: $4,600 (fund cover both Comic-Con and DragonCon) * iTunes cards for Comic-Con freebie table: $1,000 (not including printing cost) * sos.com funds will be gone after we pay for the iTunes episodes and DVD shipping
Money spent for past ads:
* Variety: $6,244 * The Hollywood Reporter: $3,600
Campaign strategy update:
* Variety and THR ads were targeted to network execs and producers * More recent campaigns were aimed at newbies (i.e. DVD drive, bus shelter ad, poster ads, iTunes cards) * It might be time to remind execs that this fandom is in for the long haul if needed. An ad on a trade magazine would be effective. Plans could change depending on the S3 situation.
Funds we need to raise for the following campaign projects:
* $3,600 for THR ad in August or earlier * Some money will be needed for September and October campaigns (target audience will also depend on S3 situation) * Funds will be needed for a S2 DVD library drive
Fundraiser ideas to continue our campaign momentum:
* To supplement the fans' donations, we need to diversify our fundraisers * Some ideas to raise funds include selling small items* on cafepress.com (*these small items are really "mobile ads": stickers, decals, bumper stickers, license frames, etc.). We're also looking into some options to use the posters. More details coming soon. * Potential fundraiser: auctioning the bus shelter ad which hopefully will be autographed by a LOTS cast or crew member
Other activities:
* Everything the fandom is doing helps: the videos, the letters & emails, t-shirts, online petitions, etc. Please keep going. * We'd like encourage everyone to participate at the cons (i.e. fan tables, art shows, panels, sponsored parties, giveaway opportunities, etc. are free most of the time). LOTS fan presence needs to grow. Cons are a ton of fun, and great opportunities to meet other passionate LOTS fans - not to mention newbies. It does my heart good to know that LotS is ahead of Lost, wow. Disney is brick-ass stupid, I'm sorry, but they are.
Just watching Richard kissing Kahlan, now that we know that her power will not hurt him, they can be together. So they have to have a 3rd season. Just think of all the kissing that'll be going on and other things.

Actually for ABC/Disney it's a business decision and a bunch of polls voted on by essentially a handful of people do not a sound business decision make. It's all about numbers and that's why it's so important that we bring more viewers to the show and keep those DVD sales up.
As for having spent the money on the rights and only producing 2 seasons, I assure you the bean counters did the math and figured out exactly how much they had to ask for season 3 in order to make a profit. Any less would probably be a loss which would be throwing money away, regardless of what they paid for the rights. I am fairly certain they have already made a profit well above what they paid for the rights with seasons 1 & 2.
Decisions in this level of business are not based on emotions or even what the individucal employees want to do, but on the return for the company and the shareholders. In the end more LotS depends solely on a dollars and cents (sense) decision. Will the show make money for the network/producer and that all depends on viewing #'s and what they can sell ad sponsorships for.
I know we are all emotionally invested in this show, but we really need to remember that for the networks and production companies, it really is a business decision. It has to make sound business sense for them which means it's all about the cold, cruel dollars and cents.
Which means for us - bringing more viewers to the show and spending money on the show.

But the winners are announced July 20 and Lost is almost close to us. So we better keep voting to make sure they don't catch up.
Can we vote multiple times or is it a one time thing?? Just want to make sure.
Keep up the pressure everyone!! We need to let them know we're not about to back down on saving Seeker for no reason!!
What I don't understand is why they were willing to pay so much money for the rights just to let it die after 2 seasons! Talk about dumb!
You can vote more than once I do, but sometimes when I try to vote again the voting part of the page don't show so I just keep on refreshing the page or create a new one of the same page and it usually shows again or I just vote again the next day!!!
Well that least they gave us 2 seasons because sometimes they cancel shows after 1 season and sometimes some shows cost more than our seeker's 2 seasons put together.

Ohhhh my God!!!!!!!! that video was sooo beautiful it made me cry! no wonder they have so much chemistry on screen, is because they get along really well behind the scenes!!! AWEEE. Believe it or not I still have hope that there will be a third season. However I am so very dissappointed, Legend of the Seeker is one of the best shows I've ever seen and I just wanted to say that I enjoyed every episode of this show. Legend of the Seeker will always be in my heart!!!! (Crying) I hope to see the cast soon in future projects.
