Do u know that a lot of your images have been deleted? Just letting u know. I voted. But why are we doing this? I thought that Syfy already said No, or Disney said No. Some one was stupid.
I keep telling myself to write Disney a letter but I just can't seem to find the heart to do it right now. Maybe we'll get a miniseries or something, something. Blessed Be...
I just went on Twitter and read that Tribune won the bidding, how can that be true? Others said that someone has the rights. Do any of you know any thing? Blessed Be....

Okay - quick catch up here!
SyFy deal fell through back in May - so old news. Starz seemed to be a possibility a week or so ago but for whatever reason that didn't work out. Not sure if there was a bidding war or if they just couldn't afford it or what. Personally I think the Tribune info is completely incorrect. Think the rep didn't have a clue as to what they were talking about.
I know it's hard, but we really do need as many people to write ABC/Disney as possible. They hold the rights so if they don't act in some form or fashion, then we will never get more LotS. Just tell them how much you love the show and how you will support it and ask them to be open to all options when it comes to more LotS.
It seems that our campaign is causing something because there are indications that ABC/Disney is either willing to sell/lease/co-produce or that they may be thinking about doing something themselves. This is based on the bidding war rumors and the fact that they apparently haven't released the actors from contract.
Think that is about all but give a shout out if you have more questions!

Has there actually been any sort of official announcement from ABC/Disney?

Regarding what? If you are looking for an "official" cancellation announcement, we won't get it.
They only way we will get an official announcment from ABC/Disney is if they decide to produce something LotS related for themselves or if the work a co-produce deal with another entity. And most likely in the co-produce structure the annonucement would come from the new partner and not ABC/Disney unless ABC/Disney is a majority partner/producer.
If they sell/lease the rights out right then the announcement would come from the new network/company, not ABC/Disney.

Okay Okay Okay. I wrote to them in March, wrote I don't know how many e-mail since that time.
I'm breaking out Crane Stationary, manuscript writing, and my best, most compelling arguments.
I know I'm always impressed when I get a handwritten letter than a type written letter.
Bug me in 3 days if I haven't said I've sent it off.
I DO think the ball in 100% in Disney's court. I completely agree -- that they haven't let the actors go is a SIGNIFICANT ite, -- we need to Tweet Bridget a question and confirm that. There is too much pressure by actor's management to just indefinitely keep them hanging. They MUST be paying a retainer cost at this point.

Do we know for sure that the actors are still under contract? Bridget's latest news on that was several weeks ago, I believe. They could've been released by now. Plus, I just can't imagine that Craig moved to the U.S. without being able to look for more work.

I believe the news that they hadn't was from Bridgit on the 15th of July. And I would think that if the situation had changed since then it would have gotten out.
As for Craig and work, it's my understanding (from an industry person) that the actors can take other work as long as it doesn't interfere with them being available to film whatever they are contracted for (in this case LotS) when needed. Further, there is a mechanism for them to get "approval" from the contracting company to do other work. My guess is that the actors are getting some small amount of money to stay under contract, so why give up the income unless you need to be released for other work?

That makes sense and is what I figured was probably the case. I have a friend in the industry, and while I didn't ask her about this particular case, she has told me in the past about paying a retainer to actors to keep them available. It may be there are still DVD commentaries to do and that's one reason to keep them under contract. Just guessing here. But it makes sense that there would be provisions to allow them to work or get permission to work. Otherwise, no actor in his right mind would sign a contract like that!

okay so i'm new here and i have a question, if starz's price was to low to buy LOTS wouldn't ABC still take it? considering it might have been the only offer they had on the show and it isn't making them any money just sitting there?
