Ring*Con news source14th July 2010 – Bruce Spence Bruce Spence is one of the leading actors in “Legend of the Seeker”, portraying Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander. Bruce is also very well known due to his role as “The Mouth of Sauron” in “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”. After his appearance at RingCon 2006 in Fulda, Bruce is coming back and attending RingCon 2010. Craig Parker is confirmed (I don't know if this was already announced) Craig Parker Gast der Ring*Con 2010 Craig Parker craig_parker Actor Haldir - LotR Darken Rahl - Legend of the Seekers Craig Parker – Haldir, Herr der Ringe, Darken Rahl - Legend of the Seekers I used Google Translate for this:Haldir is an Elf of Lothlorien, who watched with his brothers and Rúmil Orophin the boundaries of the forest kingdom. He led the Fellowship after Caras Galdhorn. Haldir is very pessimistic, he has lost all hope and believe that the world is lost outside Lothlórien. "Foolish it may seem, however, the power of the dark lord shows nowhere more evident than in the alienation of all those who do him some resistance. Just as we are still in good faith in the world outside of Lothlorien, with the possible exception of Rivendell that we do not dare to jeopardize our blind confidence our country. We are living now are more often on an island in the middle of many dangers, and our hands on the bow string as the harp. " - Lord of the Rings - The Craig Parker Haldir actor has long been far beyond the boundaries of New Zealand towards known, because no one died in 'The Two Towers "as dramatic as the Elbe. The New Zealand, 178 cm tall actor was on 12 November 1970 in Suva on Fiji born. He gained his first acting experience in numerous stage productions and many television appearances, such as King Cleades in the fantasy series "Xena - Warrior Princess" on the side of Lucy Lawless. Especially popular was he as Guy Warner in the New Zealand soap opera "Shortland Street" and some spectators shed tears even as he left the series. Craig is very much in demand as a presenter of public and private events and traversed some time ago New Zealand for the popular celebrity debates. In his role as Haldir Craig had on each day of shooting a lot of patience and staying power have, for the wearing of the wig and the same ears lasted three hours. An effort has really paid off. Originally applied for Craig as voice actor for Frodo in the cartoon version of Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings. Nevertheless it took until the casting of the first film for Haldir Elven guard until Peter Jackson decided to give him that role. After "Lord of the Rings" Craig Parker was soon busy. He participated in several "Power Rangers" episodes and played in 58 sequences, "Shortland Street" Guy Warner. Then he played 10 episodes long Darken Rahl in "Legend of the Seeker" and currently plays Craig in "Spartacus: Blood and Sand with". Craig Parker, whose hobbies swimming, eating, sailing, and play, and whose favorite singer in the world star David Bowie is, already belongs to the "inventory" of the Ring * Con. --- Haha!! Craig Parker's hobby is 'eating' That's my kind of guy!! ;D

Let's fill this up with comments Conseekadores!! Let them know what a great addition Legend of the Seeker would be to their lineup. sourceIs STARZ Becoming the Unofficial “Fantasy Network”? Posted on 14 July 2010 by Tim O'Leary, Associate Editor The Starz network really put itself on the map this year with the breakout success of its flagship original series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The low-fantasy sword-and-sorcery epic attracted a huge following, largely due to the fact that it was just so original – there really was no other series like it. (And we really dug it here at TheTorchOnline.com!) When the schedule for the upcoming season was announced, it was interesting to note that the network had added not one but two more fantasy or fantasy-ish series with Camelot and Pillars of the Earth (a mini-series). They’re also co-producing the next season of the UK sci-fi series Torchwood in collaboration with the BBC. This, from a network whose only other original programming is currently a couple of reality shows (non-fantasy programming like Party Down was recently canceled). Pillars of the Earth isn’t exactly fantasy, but rather historical fiction, set in Medieval England and focusing on an architect named Jack Jackson. From Starz: “This epic tale of passion and greed begins when a mysterious secret disrupts the succession to the English crown and an unlikely member of King Henry’s family takes the throne. A power struggle between Henry’s daughter, Maud, and nephew, Stephen, causes England to be torn by war as battles rage for the rightful heir. Meanwhile, Bishop Waleran Bigod and the Hamleigh family manipulate the conflict to satisfy their own ruthless ambitions. Within this tumultuous setting, Prior Philip fights insurmountable obstacles to keep Kingsbridge and his dream of building a magnificent cathedral alive. The task is daunting, but master-mason Tom Builder, his gifted stepson, Jack, and noblewoman Aliena work together to achieve their dreams. And in the process, the long-hidden secret is revealed.“ Despite its lack of magic, I’m going to hazard a guess that Pillars will have enough palace intrigue to keep readers of TheTorchOnline.com satisfied. Their other medieval England series, Camelot, is yet another adaptation of Arthurian legend — apparently, the landscape has room enough for this and Merlin. Production has yet to begin, and no word has come out yet as to whether the tone will be similar to Spartacus – over the top, stylized, comic book aesthetic — or a more sober, serious Arthurian affair, such as the TNT version of Mists of Avalon. What we do know is that they’ve amassed a number of reputable actors, including Eva Green as Morgana and Joseph Fiennes as Merlin, which is a sign of good things to come — good actors usually choose good projects. So what do you think? Is Starz quietly branding itself the Fantasy Channel?

It could very well be. That would be a good thing. Since Syfy went weird with a name change and forays into non-science fiction or fantasy related programming, we need something new. I plan to watch the upcoming Starz series mentioned in the article.

I just saw that too ruthy. But he's the editor for TorchOnline -- not a Starz person. He might be saying that based on Ausiello's comment that Starz's looking at Seeker is 'hogwash'. Whatever. We just won't know for awhile yet. I say we keep fighting and keep commenting. If there's overwhelming response each time for Seeker, then it can only be good for us.

Given the buzz that is going around about Starz from multiple sources, I think that the TorchOnLine guy is indeed saying that based on "old" news and Ausiello's uninformed comment.
Too many different sources have said that Starz is at least hearing our campaign and pushing it up to senior managament for it to be completely made up.
They have openings in their programming and they are looking...

Since we're keeping a close eye on Starz - I found this interesting: Starz, Comcast make new deal Companies sign new multi-year affiliation agreement By Georg Szalai June 29, 2010, 12:48 PM ET Updated: June 29, 2010, 02:26 PM ET NEW YORK - Premium channel operator Starz Entertainment and cable giant Comcast Corp. have signed a new multi-year affiliation deal. Financial terms were not disclosed. The companies said the agreement covers the distribution of Starz Entertainment's Starz, Encore and MoviePlex premium channels and the related HD, on demand, HD on demand and online advanced services. The new deal replaces separate Starz and Encore agreements with Comcast. As part of the deal, the companies also agreed on the distribution of Starz Entertainment's authenticated online broadband offerings, such as Starz Online and Encore Online. Starz is focusing on striking more such deals with its distributors. Comcast's Starz and Encore subscribers will receive Starz Online and Encore Online, which each offer 300 movies and episodes of original programming. Starz is also planning to launch MoviePlex Online for older films this summer. "Extending the broader relationship between the companies provides a great pipeline of commercial-free movies and original programming for years to come," said Matt Bond, executive vp of content acquisition for Comcast. "The agreement with Comcast extends and expands our relationship in a way that benefits consumers and provides Comcast with even more flexibility in presenting our programming," said Bill Myers, Starz Entertainment's president and COO. Previously, Comcast had separate deals with Starz and Encore that ran through Dec. 2012 and Feb. 2010, respectively. Comcast had agreed on a short-term extension before the new broad deal. source
