so i got a response from Fox on the email i sent out (which is my local provider Whitney, Thank you for your email and support for LEGEND OF THE SEEKER. I understand your passion for the show, however not enough viewers shared the same feelings. LEGEND OF THE SEEKER has not garnered enough viewer support to warrant us continuing with the program. The distributor ABC Domestic has not made a decision about the future of the show. Perhaps they can find another television outlet. ok, well you suck FOX. isn't this pretty much the same response tribune had? holy cow guys! last time i was looking at this board there was only 16 pages! Heya Whitney, Which particular FOX station was that?? (Since Greg at FOX40 had a totally different response)
What alternate stations in your area are there?? Definitely time to contact them
karen--Awesome news from Watch With Kristin, ThanXXX for sharing
And ET is correct, no rest for us, still gotta keep the pedal to the metal ;D
@dody, maybe try my Canadian link to the article: ca.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b170777_hell_yes_legend_of_seeker_aint_dead.html
(I think there's also a section on the top, left hand side where you can change it per Country, the section to look for is 'Watch With Kristin' )
@et, I get LotS on WGN-Chicago too, (along with KTLA & WPIX), but before the big meld of WB & CW, there was also a UPN station which still eXists that used to air CW/WB programming too...I just remembered that! Gotta look it up and give them a shout
I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm in sacramento if that helps. I have the CW so i'll try contacting them to see if they'll play it

I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm in sacramento if that helps. I have the CW so i'll try contacting them to see if they'll play it [/quote] It's my understanding that in some markets the Fox chanels are owned or affiliated with the Tribune, which may be why there is a difference in responses. This Fox response sounds an awful lot like the Tribune response.

I will start Confessing some twitter accounts! Seeker we won´t lose Hope!! ThanXXX Jos
We definitely need all of the fans help, TVBytheNumbers has a different opinion about a possible Season 3, and it's NOT good!
Legend of the Seeker Viewing Up Slightly, But…
Is this the final season Legend of the Seeker? We don’t know yet, but at this point I think that’s the most likely outcome. I wish I had better news for you, and it’s just my opinion. Time will tell.
No Legend of the Seeker has not been canceled yet, not in the sense that its second season will be pulled off the air. All the season two episodes will air. But the Tribune Station Group has confirmed it won’t be picking the show up for a third season from ABC Domestic Television which syndicates the ABC Studios produced Seeker.
As for season 3, no decision has been made yet. ABC is still hoping to find a replacement for the Tribune stations. I wouldn’t get hung up on the last couple of weeks of ratings below. It was versus the Olympics. Besides, Tribune wasn’t happy with the numbers for the whole season, not just the last couple of weeks.
Also note that the most recent ratings for the weekend of 2/27-2/28 was the weekend before the news about the Tribune Stations Group not picking up the show for a third season came out.
Show Date R= Repeat HH Rating Live+SD Viewers (000) Legend of the Seeker 7-Nov-09 1.7 2,580 14-Nov-09 1.5 2,240 21-Nov-09 1.6 2,504 28-Nov-09 1.6 2,408 5-Dec-09 2,300 12-Dec-09 2,671 19-Dec-09 R 1.4 2,108 26-Dec-09 R 1.4 2,101 2-Jan-10 R 1.4 2,020 9-Jan-10 1.5 2,278 16-Jan-10 1.5 2,343 23-Jan-10 1.6 2,447 30-Jan-10 1.7 2,581 6-Feb-10 R 1.4 2,019 13-Feb-10 1.7 2,624 20-Feb-10 1.5 2,111 27-Feb-10 1.5 2.226
Losing the Tribune stations is a fairly big deal in that not only do they need to replace around 20 markets, they lose the top 3 markets (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago) plus the WGN America superstation which is available in more than 70 million homes nationwide.
Finding a replacement isn’t the hard part. The hard part will be finding a replacement who is willing to pay what ABC wants to get paid. Tribune decided that based on what it was paying, and the ratings for the show, that it wasn’t a good business decision to keep paying for the show. That doesn’t make it impossible to find a new home, it just makes it very difficult unless ABC is willing to slash costs a lot. My guess is ABC won’t do that.
Could it move out of syndication to another broadcast network or cable network? Anything is possible, but it doesn’t seem very likely at all.
My friend Jennifer Godwin at E! Online (who probably ain’t gonna love this post) suggests CW is the perfect network for Seeker and that it would fit nicely at 9pm after Smallville on Friday nights.
Sorry Jen, that’s not gonna happen. The CW doesn’t dabble in scripted shows that aren’t produced by one of its parents networks (CBS and Warner Bros) anymore. Every scripted show on the CW now comes out of either CBS or Warner Bros. That way, the CW itself can lose a lot of money (which it does) but its parents are still happy because they wind up making money once the DVDs, international revenue, etc. are factored in.
But Seeker is produced by ABC Studios, so ABC would get the bulk of the international licensing and any DVD revenue, not CBS or Warner Bros.
Another reason I don’t see CW as an option is that in several markets, including New York and Chicago the local CW affiliates are owned by the Tribune Stations Group.
Some will suggest Syfy is the perfect fit and from a programming point of view I’d agree. But, if ABC couldn’t make the finances work for Tribune, it seems very unlikely that it could make them work for Syfy.
What will happen? We probably won’t know the show’s fate for certain for at least a couple of months, and perhaps even longer.

Thanks Extremis... It's not what we'd like to hear, but I'm glad you posted it because from what I've been reading around Seeker fandom, it echoes several things which I think have been confusing people there isn't a need to keep campaigning (my thoughts in italics): - Mike Sussman asked us to write Disney and the networks, but tweeted LOTS isn't cancelled
LOTS isn't cancelled... It will finish out S2's 22 episodes, and word has not come production will cease. However, a new network must be found and that is not a guarantee.
- E!Kristin's article Seeker isn't dead
Along the same lines as above...As of yet, the show has not been cancelled, and there is hope it will be picked up by another network, but nothing is determined and it was encouraged we remain active campaigning the networks.
- Word Disney has "every desire" to renew the show
Disney has expressed its affection for and support of LOTS, but their desire to continue the show doesn't ensure it will be purchased. So, they need to know OUR affection and support of Seeker so they have proof there is a demand for it.
- The recent Ken Biller article they are hopeful and planning S3
Planning for story arcs of the next season must take place now because they only break for a couple months if they resume shooting. And, the finale episode must set up the next season's events. However, planning is not indicative the show has been renewed.
I think Disney will do everything they can find a new home for LOTS, but until official word comes down it is by no means a done deal. Don't give up, as Richard would say "There is always hope", but we have to fight for it!

Great post ET. At least on the bright side, the studio has not given up on season 3. If they did, then it would really be dire straits.

Lauren Griffiths Media Relations WCVB-TV, Boston (781) 433-4771 office (617) 610-6283 mobile lgriffiths@hearst.com
We are glad to hear you have enjoyed “Legend of the Seeker” on WCVB-TV Channel 5. We have been supportive of the show from the very first episode. We bid on it, cleared it and have aired it twice per weekend in excellent time periods. Although the program is moderately successful here, it is not doing well in the rest of the country. Ultimately, it is up to the producers and Disney whether or not the show returns.

ThanXXX ET Like you, I don't want fans to stop writing/emailing/etc...
You're right, it is confusing.... with the recent positive posts, fans might think the series has been renewed and that we don't need to do anything anymore....but Nothing has been Officially decided, and it can still go either way, so we definitely want to do everything we can to tip the scales in favour of renewing 'Legend of the Seeker' ;D
ThanXXX for posting that reply from WCVB girasole They look to be an ABC TV Station: www.thebostonchannel.com/index.html
and it sounds from Lauren's reply, that if ABC/Disney renews it for a Season 3, they'd be willing to keep airing it as well
Sweet! Hope we can get similar replies from other TV Stations
I just stumbled across a new-to-me TV Group, Belo Corp that could be helpful (they have 20 stations in a few different states, I'll add them to the Stations list ASAP, and you can also find them on the link below )
Belo Companies | Television Group
Belo's Television Group is one of the nation's largest and most respected. Our 20 television stations deliver journalism that has produced scores of national awards, including four national Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2008, more than any other commercial station group.
This commitment to our viewers translates into loyal audiences and superior revenue opportunities. Belo television stations rank first or second in nearly all of the 15 markets where we do business.

Thanks for all the Sacramento addresses Extremis! That's where I live and I've only gotten negative responses from Fox40 so I've just emailed the other ones you've listed. I appreciate all the hard work you and the other mod's are doing!
