Karma points are a funky and fun feature on proboards sites that allow posters to reward their fellow boardmates when they think they've done something great, or shake their finger at them if they're misbehaving.
Click on the EXALT button under the board members name and you'll grant one Karma point to the person. Click on the SMITE button and you take away a Karma point.
You need to "recharge" before you can use your Karma points so you can only do it once every hour or so.
Please avoid excessive SMITING of people - usually 1 smite is enough to make a person feel bad, excessive smiting is just plain mean.
There's no limit to the amount of Karma you can receive.
Have fun and play nice!

Is there a section where it shows posts or karma to stop being a peasant and so on? Is it 50+ posts or something?

How does Karma work exactly? Other than clicking Exalt/Smite. How do you know when to use it?

You Smite someone when you feel they have done/said something wrong or offensive Smiting them lowers their Karma score....
And you Exalt them when you think they have said something nice, or really put effort into a thought, or when they have created something awesome (like wallpapers/icons/banners), or they post new pics/interviews......anything in general that you LOVE them for! Exalting raises their Karma score...
;D does that help?

I have a question. How in the world are you supposed to know why someone decides to smite you? I'm sure I've done nothing to deserve a smite and yet suddenly I see that I have negative karma.

Awww, it happens! Some people just don't agree with things we say or do, and that is a way for them to tell you so without having to cause any verbal conflicts or spats in the forums. Its hard not knowing what you did or said to deserve it, but try not to let it really get to you! Of course, you could always attribute it to a slip of the finger or a smite-instead-of-an-exalt type accident No worries, you Karma will be up before you know it!

aw thanks scarysecrets. it doesn't bother me too much but at the time i just thought it was stupid. i wish that there was only an exalt button because people could really abuse the smite feature! anyway i guess i was just venting/actually wondering if there was a way to know what you did. because i barely post stuff here and i was like what the heck? haha.

There have been a few newbies here who smite people without realizing what it means, so if you're randomly given a negative Karma and haven't got a clue why, there's a good chance that that's the reason for it. I know, because it happened to me a little while back. We learn from our mistakes and experiences. Edit: Wow. 800th post! ;D
